Pros: Good graphics for a laptop

Cons: Endurance low

Overall Review: Just about 3yrs and it ate its Hard Drive. Having 2 slot types of laptop accepting Hard drives, I was able to grab a different Hard Drive from another laptop and plug then play. Unfortunately, all important info is lost on the other Hard Drive and its just not the same computer, slow lagging processor, no more great graphics, need registry updates but windows thinks its all good even tho its a whole new Hard Drive.

Acer Aspire

Pros: Well built, run great. Lots of extra's that come standard.
For the time period, the price I paid was in my opinion very good.

Cons: None to really complain about. Out of the 3 I purchased, 1 keyboard went bad. No biggie!!!

Overall Review: All you need is the hard drive caddy so you can install the 2nd hard drive. I noticed it while doing my yearly Heatsink Fan Cooler cleaning. Not that you really need the extra drive installed but for a complete backup, it's nice to have. No need for buying an external hard drive storage since you can use this "Very Nice" option that came standard. Out of all the 8 Notebooks we have, I wish I would have purchased a few more of these. If your looking for a replacement & can find one of these, grab it. Thanks Newegg, another great product you offered.

Great First Laptop

Pros: Price $650 on sale, fastest AMD mobile processor, decent graphics(it can run mass effect on max, but just game on my custom desktop), 4GB ram(only 667Mhz, but still good), really beautiful screen(1366X768), great sound(I'm a musician so I love music and this thing has great bass for a laptop), good quality webcam and microphone(I use them for recording acoustic songs), great wireless(It picks up wireless signal very well), big 300GB hard drive, nice touchpad, and it looks sexy haha

Cons: webcam does not work in sunlight (screen goes all white), battery life is only about 1-3 hours depending on what you're doing, usually I play music and go on the internet at the same time so it drains faster),

Overall Review: When I first got it I played around and discovered the incredible amount of bloatware, so did a fresh install of vista 64 and deleted the recovery partition, but I downloaded the drivers before all of this. AFterwards I updated it, install the drivers, transfered all of files from my desktop(music and video), install programs, tweaked vista and it's been great. To tweak vista I just turned off system restore, disabled aero glass and animation effects( to save power), disabled the page file, changed the power settings of battery saver so that the processor could reach 100%, defragmented the Hard drive, and so on. I love this laptop and have no regrets :)

Pros: Hmmm...

Cons: It was junk. Within 24 hrs (just long enough to load up lots of stuff!), it started making a sound like SAND grinding! I have ABSOLUTELY had it with Acer. This is my THIRD LEMON from them!

Overall Review: Three strikes and you ARE OUT

AS6530 - Amazing Laptop at an Amazing Price!

Pros: -First off, this is one of the best deals on Newegg that I've seen.
-The case is very sturdy and the computer has an overall great build quality. The CPU is powerful enough to handle all of my applications (including multiple 3d/programming dev applications). The integrated ATi graphics card (HD 3650) scores a 5.1 for gaming graphics (Vista) and is great for gaming and using 3D programs. The CPU/GPU combination can handle all of my games, (Halo 2, Fallout 3, Shadowrun, Gears of War, Oblivion, Guild Wars, COD5), at high or medium quality! (with the exception of Crysis, witch I havnt tried yet)
-The screen is a perfect size and is slightly glossy and glare resistant. The resolution/aspect ration (16:9) is perfect for watching videos and playing games.
-Plenty of RAM (and room for upgrade)
-Some of the best laptop speakers I've heard
-Nice full keyboard
-Great wireless range and speed (b/g/draft-N)
-Lots of good connections (USB, eSATA, HDMI, etc)
-Long battery life

Cons: -You can see a little flex in the keyboard, but its barely noticeable and each key is very crisp and the keyboard is comfortable.
-50+ garbage/bloatware applications that take about 2 hours to remove.
-5400 RPM HDD. I will probably upgrade to 7200 RPM in the future.
-DVD/CD drive can get a little noisy if the computer is in certain positions.
-Even with great cooling, the laptop can get pretty hot during extended use. Especially while gaming or if its not on a table.
-I personally did not like the partitioning layout, so I used GParted to resize/recreate my partitions to this:

|| 80gb "WINDOWS | 35gb "LINUX" | 170gb "DATA" ||

Overall Review: -Since I purchased this laptop before June 29th, I am eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade disc!
-I recommend Revo Uninstaller to uninstall all of the bloatware. Its a free program that can quickly uninstall programs and scan for leftover files on the HDD and in the registry.
-Nice responsive touch-buttons
-Awesome glossy "deep blue" finish on the case
-Overall great modern design and looks very sweet
-I've noticed that the computer will shutdown if it gets too hot, which is a nice safety precaution. Even if i'm in the middle of an intense Halo match >:(

I bought this laptop so I could have a portable computer that can do most of the things my ~$2000 desktop can do. This machine far surpasses my expectations.

Pros: This is really quite a responsive computer. I don't agree at all that it has some sort of cheap feel or something, it feels very solid, and the kepboard flex for me at least, is totally acceptable, and to be honest don't see how it could ever be a problem. Have not had any kind of major problem whatsoever. The sound is not phenomenal, but it's waaaay better than any other laptop sound I have heard before. The area where you rest your palms is nice and large so its comfy to type, and it has a coating that has almost a snakeskin feel to it.

Cons: I do wish the touchpad was not textured, as I had a little adjusting to do to using it..... almost feels like tiny little vibrations on the tip of your finger, if your used to a smooth feel. The only eq pre-set that sounds even remotely good is the rock setting, anything else sounds wayy muddy. If you are not ready to spend hours updating and uninstalling and patching, and generally honing the performance of a laptop, folks, then dont buy a laptop, or tell your mommy to bet a computer guy to do it for you. Thats just how it is and when that is done you will have a very decent little machine with this one. One of the neighbor kids was getting too aggresive with a game and made a key come off, but it snapped back in, and hasnt been a problem since. The neighbor also don't bet a turn either anymore, lol.

Overall Review: Game wise, any kind of old school game like cs:s , or JointOps, or civ, plays butter smooth, on high, and halfway modern to new games play at medium to medium/low. This is not the nicest laptop you can buy, but it sure is close to the nicest one you can buy for the money. Again, quit whining about bloatware, and vista, cause thats just the way it is.

Pros: Boots Vista fast enough (at least to the login page)
Graphics card works great for games
Nice sound system
Plenty of usb connections (as others have said there are really 4, one inside the SATA)
Better battery life than previous laptop (prob about 3 hours w/o a heavy load)
As long as it's on a desk it stays nice a cool
Touchpad disable function key (I don't know how many times I've been typing and then move my mouse with my palm and mess up)
No big problems so far that weren't caused by Vista

Cons: Bloatware (not that hard to get rid of)
Weird partition
Backup taking 3 DVD's (all been said before)
Not that this is much of a con but it really bugs me
The enter key (the one you used the most not the one on the number pad) didn't work on some games so I redefine the key for whatever it was set to do and come to find out that the game recognizes it as NumEnter
The nibs on the underside of the lap top do occasionally dig into your skin but it's not that bad they seem to provide better air flow under the laptop (for when it you know not on top of your lap)
Vista boots to the login page fast enough but after you login it seems to take a while before you can do anything
It can get hot if it's not stting on a desk

2 big things that I'm mad about that arn't the laptop's fault
I bought it for 699 and 1 week later it goes down to 659 with free shipping
2-3 weeks later Microsoft announces a free upgrade to windows7 if you buy a laptop with Vista on it (this one really made me m

Overall Review: Keyboard flex is unnoticeable unless your banging down on the keys
There is quite a bit of give on the other side of the monitor (the top when it's closed), that's the only part that seems to "feel" cheap to me
I hate how they put pgUp/pgDown Home and End keys below the number pad, I always get 1 row down
Scroll thing is neat but doesn't work great
I got the error message about Catalyst control center, updated the drivers and it fixed it, Vista decided to upgrade the drivers got the error again
I always seem to hit the last media button while moving the laptop and this opens windows media center (sometimes more than once)
I get better wireless with this than my old laptop, seems plenty fast enough to me
The default screen saver uses the webcam sometimes and could give you quite a shock
The enter key thing still bugs me

Processor/RAM is the lowest part of this laptop (also the HD could be better)

A Good Buy

Pros: HDMI, eSATA, Dual core AMD CPU, ATI graphics card, 4 Gb Ram, 320Gb HDD; large bright 16:9 display (looks more like 17"), decent sound for a laptop, nice keyboard and touch pad, number pad, sharp eyecam, looks like it costs more, portable but can be a desktop replacement, great for playing movies.

Cons: No internal bluetooth, the 2nd HDD cover does not close completely with a drive inserted, my recovery discs would not let me install a larger HDD (that worries me), Vista, trial software, card reader slot hard to use on a stand, only 3 USB ports - two when I use my nano mouse. I get some "pops" from my external USB speakers.

Overall Review: eSata should be eSATA/USB dual port, keyboad a a bit of flex to it, fits my Case Logic laptop bag with Rosewill stand, Logitech nano mouse and AC adapter, Lacks the neet lighted logo other 16" Acers have.
