Depends what you are doing.  Standard internet browsing maybe 4-5 hours. Gaming maybe 1-2.

Does the fan system provide adequate cooling or does the computer "burn" your hand when you touch it for 10-20 seconds?

Is the SSD drive the boot drive?

Do you get the Windows OS on a disc so you can reinstall if you decide to upgrade the SSD in the future?

Sorry, Only saw the first question.  It does not come with an Windows OS disc, but you can create recovery DVD's (5).  The System prompts you to create a backup via several  means.

I'm thinking about buying this, is it really 8GB DDR5 from the 2 gpu's running SLI? I thought that SLI cards don't stack vram? So it would only be 4gb DDR5?

Hi, I am interested in buying this laptop. I want to see if its compatible with a distribution of linux. If it is not can i return it? Windows will have been removed at that point.

From what i am reading, SLI is (for lack of a better term) nearly useless in Linux.  This means the 2nd GPU will be completely unused if you wipe windows and install Linux.  If you want a Linux Gaming Laptop, there would be much better choices....

But that note aside, any popular linux distro should install just fine once you play witht he BIOS to turn off any fastboot options.
