yes the os is installed on the ssd (win 10) the both of the drives are GPT (not mbr) with UEFI on.

How difficult would it be to replace the 1TB HDD with an SSD on this model?

I've seen videos of it being done. If you've taken apart a laptop or are handy, then it's no problem. If you're new to it, i wouldn't recommend it. It does not have a service door for the hard drive...You have to disassemble the entire bottom cover.

How is the screen? Is it like older models which are TN panels, or is it IPS? If it is TN, does it look good?

I don't think it's IPS, however I love the way it looks. I would give it a solid 9/10.
