Pros: - Even during the hot days of Summer, it plays relatively intense games smoothly and I haven't seen the GPU get past 58C even with the fans on silent. Additionally, the CPU is like 29C on idle with a room temperature 23C. Under heavy load, the CPU doesn't get past 56C for me. - The keys are membrane, but they still feel good to the touch. - Weighing at around 5.3 lbs, It's easy to fit into a backpack and not a burden on the shoulders. - Although some may not like the CD drive, I still use CDs and it works pretty nicely. - The 8GB of DDR RAM is at 2400MHz, way faster than my older DDR3 1333Mhz RAM on my desktop. Software has told me the RAM is Samsung; I really don't care about the Brand of RAM, but that's probably what you're going to get if you do care. - The different Display settings are helpful, although you may not like the Anti-Blue setting, it's very easy on the eyes especially at night. - The Ctrl and Shift keys are a tad larger than the other keys, works nicely in game. - Fans are relatively silent.

Cons: - Although I like the display, its kinda flimsy, but it's only noticeable if you're placing your hand on the display and putting a little bit of pressure on it. - I didn't realize that the brightness and volume control was not under the Function keys. They're both on the arrow keys. Up and down arrows being brightness and left and right being volume. You do have to press the FN key to do that. It's kinda awkward since most laptops I've had, these controls are on the Function keys, but its not really a big deal. - I never realized how annoying Windows Update was, not a problem of the actual product but you do have to wait a while for it to fully update after you first turn it on. - The battery for this is flat but wide, instead of thick and tall like some laptop batteries I've seen. It's not really a con, but it might not fight in tight pockets in a backpack or something. In addition, the battery doesn't last that long, but that's to be expected I think.

Overall Review: One of the best laptops I've had, the room for upgrading is great, which I think most who buy this laptop plan to do. MSi did a great job with this laptop and probably has one of the best prices on the laptop, don't be afraid to buy it.

Overall Review: Speaking of battery, it's very tiny (41Whr), it lasts 1hour (ETA) if you do heavy gaming, or 3-4hours (ETA) just web browsing I'm satisfied with this laptop, since I mainly used it for programming. [Update] After installing Samsung 960 EVO 250GB + 8GB DDR 2400 RAM, the machine is superb!

Pros: Case - Nice clean aluminum look and is a bit durable. Video card - Can run latest games decently. Webcam - It's not HD, but still descent for built-in camera (enable it with FN + F6). Expandable - Able to add M.2 SSD, able to upgrade HDD (but you must clone HDD to recover information). Audio - Built-in speakers and audio 3.5 mm ports are pretty good. Bloatware - There is some, but it's not as much as other manufacturers. MSI has good utilities. Overall Value - Good specifications for the price

Cons: (Not major issues in my opinion, but annoyance considerations) Laptop Charger - Connections are lose, and with no light or indicator built in, you may not be charging your PC and run out of battery. Battery life - Only 1 hour of run-time (approximately). IPS screen - Viewing angle is better than TN, but marginally. It's not as great as they advertise. Track pad - Gets annoying when accidentally touching it (tap = left mouse click). Be sure to disable (FN + F3) while gaming or else you'll misfire.

Overall Review: I've had this laptop a couple of weeks and For the value of your money for what you are getting, this is a great laptop. Unfortunately, I bought this before the free deals came through. I had to RMA the first one because of bad HDD partitions, but the second one was fine.

Pros: This is a review for the MSI MSI PE60 prestige, recently purchased from newegg. I am NOT a professional reviewer, but always like to give a fair review to a product, especially if it was not previously reviewed, as this was not when I bought it. I did read some reviews online, and not all of them are correct. Some of the reviews have glaring inaccuracies. I wanted to correct these reviews for buyers, so that you are aware. The number 1 issue reported here by online reviewers is that there is a slight purple tint to the screen out of the box. I can confirm for you that this is true. However, I can also confirm this is a problem easily solved: the off color tint is related to the MSI true color technology. I thought at first this tint might be related to the display or some problem with the video card… until I plugged it into my HD television. Upon doing this, I immediately noticed the tint also went through my TV, which I know is a fine display. That is when I started to play with the true color addition. It turns out that this is one of the most outstanding features of this laptop. It has video presets based upon why you are using your computer, and the moment I switched from the factory preset to “gaming” mode, the tint went away instantly and the display functioned normally. Once I knew this, the beauty of the true color became apparent to me. It allows my laptop to be used for more things than just gaming. Its built in flexibility to use it for other purposes. On to the more meaty review. The first thing I noticed out of the box is that, unlike other computers from MSI, this does not look like a gaming laptop. It lacks the badges and extras of other MSI products that I have seen and or used. However its not as important to look like a gaming laptop as it is to function like one (more on this in a moment). The brushed aluminum look looks a lot like the cheap laptops that my company buys for workstations. Indeed the only evidence that this is not some standard sight of notebook is the letters MSI added prominently to the back of the screen. If you handed this to 100 people who use laptops regularly and asked them what this computer was meant to function as, probably more than half would not guess it’s a gamer laptop until they opened up the screen and looked at the sticker to see what is inside. Other than the MSI label, it looks like a dell or HP office computer. Similarly, this game does not “feel” like other MSI products. Other products from MSI that I have seen are more heavy duty. You can feel it when you pick it up, they are normally built with a very sturdy construction. However, with this computer feels much less sturdy. It feels lighter weight. This is not a huge problem for me, as I plan to take care of my investment and treat it well. Once again in this area how it feels is less important than how it works. So how does it work? The benchmarks on line are all pretty much confirmed here. This product functions very well, and in line with a lot of other laptops I could have paid much more for. I noticed immediate improvement over my old computer in how well the computer performs. The GTX 1050 card works great, and provided improved performance on the software I use. Other, similar products testing in similar ranges, with similar hardware features started at around 1100 dollars. Through newegg I paid 850 and they sent me a back pack to haul it around in, given as a bonus by MSI. Once the true color was adjusted, I found the visuals crisp and seamless. I was able to, for instance, play world of warships on max settings with no performance problems.

Cons: Part 2. The outputs are all fine. This product features modern USB ports, and an HDMI port, all of which worked perfectly (except for the one I didn’t have the necessary cables for so I didn’t test it). I did wish it had an RGB port, as I like to use my HD TV as a monitor, and when you use the HDMI out on all computers there is generally a slight loss of the very edges of the screen. I have not been able to change the output to eliminate this, but know from my desktop that this isn’t an issue if you have RGB out. This lacks this, presumably as a weight saver. Its not a big enough issue to dissuade me from buying this product. The keyboard is nice and functional. Its fully responsive when I type on it. I like the bright backlighting on the keyboard, especially when I am in a place where its dark. Battery life is mediocre. I think part of the reason it feels less heavily constructed is that they may have saved weight on battery. This is not a huge concern for me, as I normally have it plugged in, but it is something to be aware of if you go places and want to use it without your cable. My bottom line on this product? You could spend a lot more money on an MSI product that looks more like a gaming laptop. You could pay 1200 dollars or more for a computer that functions in about the same way, that has the same or very similar components, and even that is made by the same company. But, if you want a computer that is under 900 bucks but functions like competition that costs over a thousand? If you want that, then this product is for you. I give this product 5 stars based upon cost to performance ratio.

Pros: The display (both size and quality) are great. I especially love the different viewing modes. Love the cooling fan (use it often). Price was great when I bought it. I'm not a gamer but I use photoshop and often have a lot of things running in the background and have no problems!

Overall Review: I bought this and added a 500gb ssd and 16gb of ram, however I had to void the warranty in order to do so. I plan on adding a samsung 960evo ssd soon, as well as upgrading to 32 gb of ram. Once I do this, I don't think I will have any issues with this pc for years. However, I spent $800 on this PC and am planning on adding about $500 of components to really make it what I want it to be. It may have been better to just buy a slightly higher end computer to begin with if I would have had the cash. As it comes out of the box, I was disappointed with the performance as it was really limited by the factory specs. However, if you are willing to violate the factory warranty and upgrade over time, this is a great shell to get started with. I feel as though the listing is deceptive as it says you can expand. It really should tell you it is at a great cost of voiding your warranty.

Pros: - It has a decently powerful processor and fast RAM - It looks fairly conservative and not gaudy like most gaming notebooks - The screen isn't as bad as people say - The keyboard is comfortable (I just hope it lasts... the shift and backspace keys are getting really soft and it's only been about two weeks) - Decent software features from MSI (I actually like the TrueColor Tech). - The built in audio amplifier is quite impressive (puts out great sound) - The cooling works relatively well, the "turbo-boost fan button thing" cools down a warmer PC very quickly - The laptop is much lighter and more compact than I had expected

Cons: - The screen is decent, but not great by any means (it's not very bright, but the viewing angles and color accuracy are okay...) - Would it have killed MSI to put a 4GB GTX 1050 in this machine rather than a 2GB (The 2GB of VRAM is virtually useless with newer titles)?? It's still a decently strong budget card though and can play older games without much issue. - From my understanding the M.2 slot is only capable of SATA III interface (from what I can tell it does not support PCIe drives...) - Definitely needs more RAM... the 8GBs squeak by, but there is a lot of swapping which noticeably brings down overall system performance - The 7200 RPM HDD is nice and much faster than my old PC. However an SSD would be nice for a boot drive... (system performance would drastically increase... much like with the RAM addition)

Overall Review: - Overall, not bad for the price... I got it for 750 USD including the rebate... after modifications it should come to about 900 or 950 USD. - I recommend shopping around, because for the price after upgrades you could get a system that is just as good and most likely with a better graphics card (4GB 1050 or even 4GB 1050Ti) and most likely with a true IPS display. - The free gifts sweeten the deal as well... I needed a backpack at the time and MSI's backpack gift was much better than expected (not quite a 140 USD value, but still nice nonetheless, the copy of Rocket League was cool too (even though I already have for console... still a good deal), and the journal (although free) was a little kitschy... But hey, it was free!
