Does this laptop have a 2.5" SATA drive slot?

It does not. It has two NvME M.2 slots. The extra slot will take a PCIe SSD in that form factor, which runs several times faster than even a regular SATA SSD. It also has one available SODIMM slot for adding another stick of RAM. Once I added another 8GB stick of that and a 1TB PCIe SSD to install games on, this thing runs even better than the gaming desktop I built just a few years ago that has a 4-core Core i7, 2TB SSD, and GTX 1070 GPU, and it all comes down to that much faster PCIe SSD for loading game data into memory and the GPU.

How easy is it to upgrade the RAM on this device? It doesn't void the warranty to do so, right?

Puncturing this sticker and upgrading the laptop does not void the warranty, at least in the U.S., where the federal "right to repair" law protects consumers from voided warranties just because they open and otherwise make reasonable repairs/upgrades to their devices.  The warranty only becomes voided if you physically damage the device while poking around in it, which would be the usual way a warranty gets voided, anyway.  I confirmed with MSI that breaking that seal and upgrading the laptop does not void the warranty in the U.S. before upgrading my own.  Just be sure to watch a video on how to safely crack open the case, since there are some particulars to getting it open and putting it back together that might not otherwise be self-evident.  I hope this helps.

I can also confirm that it's not the Max-Q version, having reached out to MSI for verification before purchasing.  It's the full-power (and full-speed) version.

Is this Oculus Rift S ready?

You would need an adapter cause i dont see a displayport on the side rift s uses a displayport and one usb3 rather than HDMI like the rift.
