Question 1

In one place it states 8 gb mem and in another, 16gb ram. Which is it? Also, does it havea blue ray dvd player or not? Thank you

It had 16 gb mem. No Blu-ray player. I just thought I could upgrade after, but be advised CyberpowerPC doesn't sale any parts or upgrades for there laptops? which is strange to me coming from a Dell laptop before.
It's been a great laptop for the money though, not a single problem, I love it. It has played every game I have tried with out a hitch. It even benchmark-ed high for a laptop.

Question 2

Does this model have two hard drive disk spots?

Or rather, would I be able to add one if I wanted? Or two?

I may be wrong, but I believe it only has two internal sata III bays. Both are used, one a 256GB Samsung SSD, the other a 7200rpm HDD (WD Caviar in mine). With the three USB 3.0 ports you can, with a suitable enclosure, have an external bay run drives at nearly the same speeds. For what it's worth, I'm extremely satisfied with it, I just recommend a cooling stand and being careful with the nVidia driver; had some issues with GPU switching due to Optimus and such. I stuck with the OEM driver.

Question 3

I killed it.  I was finally getting the hang of the new machine and Win 8.1  I was looking for more information about the machine so I put the 'Fang Book Driver' disk in and clicked the 'one touch install'.  I walked away and came back to a blank screen.  Nothing.  The cursor will move around and that is about it.  Any ideas?  Turned it off and on several times.  I tried the 8.1 disk that came with the machine in the DVD drive, nothing.  
What 'F' key can get me to safe boot or something?  I am dead in the water.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try using your CD again. And if you keep having the same problem
I would call Cyberfang, And have them send you a new CD. Or USB with the OS on it, And if you can get into safe mode try to install newer drives from a different computer, And burning it to a CD? Or putting the newer drivers on a USB. Which ever you want to try. And even if everything else fails. send the laptop back for a replacement.

P.S Sounds like the CD is bad to me not the laptop..

For the most part it as been working great for me the speed is awesome the picture Is nice but I get a clicking sound from time to time I'm not sure what It Is but over all a nice laptop.....

I am not the best judge of weight so I researched the specs on the Cyberpower website and it is listed at 7.9 lbs.  If you're looking for something lightweight, it is not, and I don't know of any laptop with this kind of power that doesn't have some heft to it.  Yes, the Fangbook is listed as a gaming laptop, but it is every bit the desktop replacement.  This is an awesome laptop and I couldn't have made a better choice to meet my particular needs.  I hope this helps with your decision.  Just buy it, you will not be disappointed, happy shopping...

With brightess extremely low and using the intel gpu Id say about 4 hours.

the top of the product spec says it is a 16G memory, further down it says it is 8G memory. Which one is correct?

Hello All,

I just received my new machine and the specifications say there are 4 memory slots but when I open the it up there are only 2 slots. I have check cyberpower's website for other models and they also say the have 4 memory slots. The only other place the other 2 slots could be is under the battery.

The computer came with a "service manual" and it shows 2 memory slots only. Has anyone tried to put 32GB of memory in their machine?

Update:
I emailed Cyberpower technical support and got an answer a few hours later. I'll post it here in case anyone else has the same issue.

"Thank you for contacting CYBERPOWERPC.  There are 4 total memory slots and 2 are occupied by the default memory sticks.  Two slots are under the keyboard and two slots are on the bottom side of the notebook.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us back"

"Two slots are under the keyboard" are the two you can't see with the bottom taken off. I assume you need to remove the motherboard to get to them.

Question 10

Anyone who bought this having issues with bluetooth drivers in windows 8? I bought it when it was windows 8 and the bluetooth makes everything run slow, then when i upgraded to windows 8.1, the bluetooth wouldn't work at all. I tried updating the driver and it still didn't work. I had to go back to re-installing factory windows 8 and have the computer run slow. Can't use bluetooth headset while gaming. Anyone else have this issue?

I have had zero problems with blue tooth. I use a Dualshock 4 for gaming, and it connects fine every time. I even just connected a Flip 2 blue tooth speaker quickly to make sure everything is alright. I've had issue with certain sounds over my speakers while gaming, mostly notably with Wolfenstien: The New Order (which this laptop handled it at max settings like a champ), where the voices were super quiet in comparison to everything else.

What I would recommend is to check your audio settings, in the Realtek Audio Manager. At the time, the sound was outputing Dolby something or another to a not Dolby set up. This may be a solution to your problem.
