Question 1

I've been scouring the web for a suitable Music Production Laptop with a 4th gen. i7.  This one seems to have it all (except the ssd I'll be throwing in... 2.5" mSata III?)
  I'm just concerned about fan noise for recording.  Being a gaming laptop with 2 fans - is it pretty noisy?

At full load you will hear the fan in the room.  It's noticeable.  However I have only ever experienced this when running a game at full settings.  I believe the fan was keeping the video card cool and not the processor.  If you plan on just leveraging the processor for your music software you should be fine.

Question 2

Let me clear a few things up for people who have purchased this and having problems with the Blu Screen of Death, and also these memory leaks.  This is a Windows 8.1 issue unfortunately, and the rig itself is not to blame.  To get rid of all the BSoD issues, you will just simply have to disable the quick boot.  The rig still boots extremely fast, but no BSoD.  You can google how to do this, it is easy.  With the Memory Leak, it is a DirectX 11.2 issue after an update.  You will have to make sure that your desktop resolution and refresh rate are the same as the fullscreen game you are playing.  This will stop the memory leak.  Like I said this is a problem other rigs are having with 8.1 as well.?

I do not know who you are, but you are a wonderful person!  After the last Windows update, I began getting these problems, well the memory leak anyway.  I would get the BSoD from the beginning and didn't know why.  Everything you said to do in this post, I did.  My computer now never has the memory issue, or gives me BSoD after turning on.  I had changed my refresh rate from the intel menu, from 59 to 60.  When i checked my in-game settings in WoW, the highest it could refresh was 59.9.  So I changed back to 59 on intel settings, and never got the leak again.  Thank you so much for posting this!

Hello. This laptop comes with Windows 8.1 preinstalled and I was wondering how I would go about downgrading to Windows 7? A lot of the games I'm trying to play have compatibility problems and my personal settings are constantly being reset like the volume of my microphone. Sometimes the webcam decides it doesn't want to work anymore. I'm doing my best to put up with Windows 8.1 but it's just not working out. I tried, so is there any possibility?

I am, like u, trying to adjust to Windows 8.1, I would suggest contacting Microsoft if you still want to revert BACK to Windows 7...they were extremely helpful.. If you have however, used your 1x troubleshooting call I would suggest contacting Cyberpower.  I have run into a few issues w this laptop regarding Windows and Google Chrome and technical issues however, I have been able to resolve with both support groups mentioned above.  I would also suggest a separate wireless keyboard and mouse since the laptop keyboard is slightly sensitive and enjoys jumping around. hope this helps

All I do is play World of Warcraft on my computer.  Do not really browse much, and sometimes I watch Netflix.  I am just wondering, will this computer play WoW on Ultra settings with decent framerates?  First gaming laptop I will be purchasing, so would like to get a good one, and I like this price!

Oh yes, this game will definitely play WoW on Ultra settings. I can max the settings on Star Wars: The Old Republic without even a hiccup. The 2GB of graphics memory really helps. This computer will be more than enough for WoW.

I played League of Legends on the highest settings, but I have never tried playing Starwars the Old Republic on this laptop.

Will I be able to install Windows 7 on this? And does this have two slots to run a second hard drive?

Yes, you can definitely install windows 7 on this labtop. You can find all windows 7 drivers from msi website model GE60 2OE-003US. They are exactly the same model.

You can install mSATA SSD in the provided slot and use it as OS drive, but it does not have second drive space (2.5 inch HDD).

So, I recently ordered this laptop from cyber power on the 17th of march and it has the intel i7 4810mq, 8gb of ram, 1 tb 7200 rpm hdd and the nvidia gtx 860m . I want to know if this machine can run Final Fantasy 14 and Blade and Soul on ultra settings with little trouble?
