I have no experience with models other than Qosmio X875-Q7390.

This model is a solid performer. I use it strictly as a work computer with some fairly intense programs. All games have been removed from the outset. The biggest drawback for my purpose are the relatively slow hard drives. As for sound, the built in speakers start distorting at fairly modest volume levels but I usually use headphones instead. Some disks are unreadable in the disk player even though other disk drives do read them. It appears to be the result of very slight warps or imbalances in the disks themselves not allowing the drive to bring them up to speed. The settings for vibration detection are set very conservatively resulting in some momentary interruptions when it detects even small bumps. But I would rather accept these than chance damaging hard drive heads so I have not even tried adjusting the vibration sensitivity setting. The screen is clear and sharp. I have not experimented with the 3D features, nor used the twin cameras.

Setting aside the issues I have mentioned, this computer still serves my purposes quite well. The i7 processor helps me efficiently get my work done. The ram memory is quite acceptable though I believe at least one program I use does not always release memory for other processes once it has completed the operations it used that memory for. This has the effect of gobbling up the ram memory and causing additional calculations to use virtual memory on the hard drives. I don't attribute this to any fault of the computer itself. I could upgrade the memory from 16 GB to 24 GB which would help some but wouldn't address the root cause of memory grabbing software. Speaking of the ram memory, 24 GB is the maximum consumer upgrade-able limit. The computer comes with four 4 GB memory modules but only two of them are in an area accessible by consumers as defined by Toshiba in their manual. The other two memory modules must be in a non consumer accessible location.
