I am not sure if your question refers to AMD Radeon R4 or R5 graphics, but on my computer, either way the graphics card "memory" is shared with the computer memory.  It is not a separate card you would need to run extensive memory reliant programs such as engineering CAD programs, or "gaming" programs that need advanced speed.  Most gaming programs WILL work ok on my computer.

In the overview this laptop has listed both R4 and R5 series graphics. Can anyone clarify or is it simply a clerical error?

I wondered the same thing. The Spec Sheet says R4. I went to AMD's website (link below) and the A-Series A8 has R5 graphics.
