Can this laptop come in windows 7?

That I am not sure of. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you...

Allow to to defend 8.1 if you will, though, as it really isn't that bad. There was a minimal learning curve, it boots in about 10 seconds flat, and I still have the "Desketop" mode.

It took me the better part of a couple hours getting everything the way I like it (turning apps off, cleaning up registry, etc.), but now that I'm past that part, I wouldn't even consider going back. I've had ZERO problems with this system.

Hello!  This computer does not come with any of the Microsoft Office products, just the basic Windows 8 OS.  If, by chance, you or whoever is buying this is in college - your university might provide Office 365 for free.

I just got this laptop in, although the ASUS site states this model has an IPS display and so does the sticker on the screen, it does not have an IPS at least mine does not. Anyone else who purchased this can you see if yours is an IPS? hit the windows key and x at the same time, go to device manager, expand monitors. Right click generic PNP display then left click properties. Go to the details tab and change the drop down box to hardware ID. What does it say? AUO36ED is a TN panel and a terrible one at that, it is the same panel on the Y50.. That is what mine has.

My G56JK says AUO36ED, but the display looks great to me, and it does support full 1080p very nicely.

No there is only one HDD slot but you could replace the mechanical drive for a solid state one.

Question 10

Does this Asus laptop have one or two cooling fans inside? Also, if anybody knows, how long does the battery life last during light use (not gaming)?

It has single cooling fan, but the exhaust for the cool in and heat out is good. I played Dayz on this labtop and never gets hot. I would say 4 plus hours is not gaming and light use. Depending on what apps your running and make sure you clear the security that comes with it, I did and it runs really fast.
