I already have a ROG gaming laptop and love everything about it but the backlit keyboard. I am thinking of upgrading to this one, Is red the only color backlight available?

From what I have seen, they back-light is changeable since that is what is shown on the manufacture site. You should be able to customize it to different profiles too for different games or apps if I understood it correctly.

How cool is this really?

Cool as in temperature?
I have yet to have any cooling issues at use up to 85*F ambient temperature. The front right of the case tends to heat up a bit under load, but not so much to cause discomfort on touch. The fans are a tad loud under load, but a lot lower pitch than any laptop I've seen, making them blend into any background/foreground noise fairly cleanly.

As for appearance....
Too subjective. I personally really like the new look, minus the "Republic of Gamers" monogram on the middle-back plate. Build quality is absurdly high, and the brushed metal and not-overboard LEDs (two bars, RoG logo) does a good job of flaunting that.

Question 4

1) What color are the back vents?, 
I've seen red vents for this model , however the pics here show black vents , is there a choice of vent colors or is it black or Red?

2) States release date as end of year, If was to order does that mean I would receive on 31st or ship on 31st to receive 3-4 Jan2016?

3) Is a version planned which has high specs CPU / RAM as this model has without the hot running graphics cards for those of us not really into gaming but want a performance desktop replacement and are after stability which heats interferes with.

4) lastly are the specs listed the max that the motherboard can handle or is it possible at later dates to upgrade SSD to larger spec for example.

1) The color of the vents change with the model They have more that one G752. So if you get the VY version it is red. I think the VT and VL are black.
2) All versions are out for sale right now
3) If you are not a gamer, I would not buy this model. ROG units are for games and they have other units with RAM and i7 without the fancy video card
4) I purchased the G74sx and added an SSD and doubled my RAM after. Very easy to do with their systems.
