Why are they putting 5400 Hard Drives in these?

I don't know. I didn't buy one from newegg as they continously believe lol. I bought mine from I buy power. Com with a 1tb samsung ssd upgrade for free. I paired that with the m.2 960 evo and it rocks. Honestly though with real world usage the 960 is overkill and useless. Just get a 1tb 850 ssd and rock on brotha.

Can this item be upgraded with 32GB RAM? Also, need Office on it...

Yes I upgraded mine to 32 GB of Ram and I was easily able to install office on it and everything works great, very fast Laptop
