Has anyone had problems with this laptop not switching between the AMD vega 10 for regular work and the GTX for gaming?  I just returned one from another company because the AMD Vega kept taking over for gaming... I loved the computer but i'm a little skiddish now on going with the AMD/Nvidia combo.

Hi there,
I've noticed with a couple of games that was happening. I was able to fix it by going into the Nvidia Control Panel>Manage 3D settings>Program Settings> and adding the game manually. Then in the drop-down menu below, you can select it to us High Performance Nvidia Processor. This is what worked for me, hope it helps

What intel processor does it have?

it doesn't have an Intel processor. It has an AMD ryzen 7. It runs cooler than the Intel processors and is generally Superior for a gaming laptop. I bought this a month ago and just took it on a week-long trip to India where I was using it 16 hours a day for work and games. Easy to open case, put a second SSD 2.5 in it and this can be beat.

What  kind of battery life are you achieving?

If you're buying it for battery life you're doing it wrong.  I would say using it for general purpose you would get 4ish hours out of the battery. This is a portable desktop not as much a laptop.

Can you change the keyboard's color?

I don't seem to be able to get a YES or NO answer from major sellers of this or other ASUS 17.3 or 15.6 laptops. Can the basic 16GB RAM be swapped out for 32GB+ RAM? And of course can the M.2 chip be swapped out?

there are no dvd/cd drives built in, you'll need an external drive to use dvd's or cd's

IPS stands for "In plane Switching", which is a form of LED.  It is considered to have the best color and viewing angles and the most expensive of all the panels used in laptops.
