¿Is the keyboard backlit?

Not 100% sure but if you look at the f7 key about numbers 6 and 7 there appears to be a button that should change the keyboard lighting

Is the USB-C a display port as well?

No. It is data only. The startech products and support are great, and helped me find the correct adapter for 2 monitors that would work. for this model using an hdmi converter would be Startech's product USB32HDES (but double check to make sure that is the most current info on the USB ports (for 3.0 only).
