It does have a camera located in the top cetner of the screen. I have not used it yet, but I do know it is there.

Please explain the Windows software included?

it comes with discs for both win 7 and win 8.  if i remember correctly it prompts you at the beginning of your first boot up which one.  we went with win 7.

This is such a good price - i assume the machine is new and not refurbished - is that correct?

The machine is indeed new and came with all original documentation and installation disks (comes with Windows 7 already installed which is AWESOME but also gives you a nice Windows 8 coaster). I personally love it and am very glad I finally upgraded from my 6 year old Sony VAIO

Sadly no, only fault for the keyboard which is otherwise responsive and everything I wanted.

I bought an HP ProBook last year for myself and just replaced my wife's five year old laptop.  Win 7 is the way to go,  This laptop is the best one out there for its features and price point  Yes, you do have the Win8 disk.  I use it as a beer coaster.

Can more memory be added?

Hi

You can add up to a total of 16 gb in the machine . It has one 4 gb sodimm so to reach max memory you would need  2 8gb sodimms but it has one open slot and can be upgraded to 8 gb with another 4gb

It is easy to upgrade this machine as the access panel on the bottom can be removed without tools just sliding the lock lever.

This is a very nice serviceable machine

Yes, it has a webcam. I haven't had mine too long, but so far, everything about this model is great! The video quality is actually very nice for watching shows and videos, and the sound is pretty clear. The webcam freezes every once in a while, but I've found that is to be expected with any of them.

can i run linux on this?

You'll be able to run linux, just depends on what version and whether you want to keep Windows on it. You may be able to run linux in a virtual environment as well. Nice laptop overall tho.
