Does it come with windows 7 installed on it. I saw in paranthese it indicated that it needed to be downgraded as if it came with 8 and then the consumer needed to do the work to downgrade it?

Also, does it have a CD/DVD drive, so I can install my old-school printer?

No, you will not need to downgrade yourself, Windows 7 is installed. But you will need to download the correct drivers for wireless networking to work at a reasonable speed, just follow the directions in other reviews. It does have a CD/DVD drive, you should be good.

Since the Laptop has 2 memory slots, it supports 2, 4 or 8Gb 1600Mhz DDR3 SODIMM memory in any combination according to HP. You can use one 4Gb or 8Gb memory module which would give you 4 or 8Gb total.  You could use 2- 4Gb  or 1 - 8Gb memory module(s) to give you a total of  8Gb of memory. You could use a 4Gb and 8Gb memory module which would give you 12Gb total. But why not just go for 2 - 8Gb memory modules and max out the memory to 16Gb which is the maximum the laptop will support.  Just make sure the memory modules are the same type 1600MHz DDR3 SODIMM. I have these laptops at work and some have 2 - 4Gb memory module to achieve 8Gb of total memory and others have a single 8Gb memory to achieve 8Gb of memory. Hope this answers your questions/concerns.

How does the core I3 processor perform? And this computer overall in general?

Does it do well enough for a personal work computer? Lots of multi tasking and watching videos.

I bought this for my wife for a work computer.  She reports that it does work well for a personal work computer.  The i3 should work well for watching videos and multitasking.  Just don't expect it to be a great gaming computer.

It should, Pro is a higher version not a different version, it enables certain things it doesnt remove anything, so anything that is 7 capable should work, as a matter of fact it should work on 8 as well. Though 8 isnt very good, wait for 10 if you can for your next upgrade.
