Does this computer play DVDs and CD's?

Nope, it doesn't have a disc drive. I've thought about getting an external drive for it but I use discs so seldom that it hasn't been worth it for me. Hope that helps.

Does this computer have a microphone?

It does has a built in microphone since it has a webcamera

Can MS Office installed on it? Thanks.

yes this is windows 8 not windows rt. Rt can only install apps from the app store although there is a lighter version of office for those devices as well.

does this laptop have a back lite keyboard ?

Yes. If you look at BB, they have more specs. Or just search the model number online. You'll find all the answers you'll need. It's also supposed to be decent with gaming. 128mb dedicated video plus shared memory

please;what is the Difference between this and the other one being sold for 479?

Are you sure it's the exact same model with the exact same specs? One might be refurb and the other might be Open Box.
