Does this product have one of its pins reverse polarity. Positive outside edge, inside pin neg?

Color purposes means that it doesn't necessarily matters where it's terminated as long as it in the appropriate spot. What you can do is cut the wires and reverse them there. If you do, use appropriate connectors and wire security.
