Works Great 9/2/2008 3:11:31 AM

Pros: Works great, runs cool. Easily converted to a cpu cooler instead of a gpu. That's what I use it for, cpu and northbridge, kept my cpu overclocked and under 125 F.!As all things, had to run it even cooler so added a 120mm radiator to the loop and now runs even cooler!

Cons: A we bit big. Could have a slightly faster pump. Original tubes basicly bake over time, they harden up making moving it basicly impossible without breaking a tube. Easy fix though, tear them off and replace with like sized tubing, 8mm.

Overall Review: Could have used a better type of tubing, bakes them to near rock quality and become very brittle. Otherwise, no problems.

Good for GPU, bad for VRAM 2/29/2008 7:27:01 PM

Pros: Straightforward installation
Does great job cooling GPU
Quiet on low setting
At least came with heatsinkk for RAM

Cons: RAM heatsinks should be made out of copper, but aren't
GPU never gets above 54C on my 7900GTX, but artifacting still occurs because memory overheats.
The stock cooler provided active cooling better than this, but as a whole it would run hotter.

Also, on my card the rubber tubes lay on top of a couple of the RAM modules no matter how I arrange them, so blowing a fan over those specific modules is more difficult.

Overall Review: If you buy this, buy copper Video RAM heatsinks and some type of spot cooling fan to blow over the RAM.

Holla 12/18/2007 2:28:16 AM

Pros: Works well, I mod'd it with a TT TMG Nd4 for my 8800gtx, 43C idle and 50C under 3dmark06 100% load on high fan settings, good for the money, not to loud.

Cons: Big, I had to cut but PCI slot holders to fit my EVGA 680i SE mb bottom 2/3 slots. Pain to refill the res. If you decide to refill the res. make sure you mix the coolant with some water or the pump wont pump it.

Overall Review: Good investment, has been working flawlessly for 2 months now, couldn't be happier. If you are using this with an older card buy some ram heat sinks because the ones provided are not so good.

Update to previous review. 8/24/2007 5:41:16 PM

Pros: See other thoughts.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Overall Review: After owning this baby for about a year, my rating for this item has been lowered from a 5 to a 4. One thing to note is that this GPU cooler DOES come with RAM heatsinks. However, it does a terrible job of cooling the GPU RAM. So what I did was I taped a 120mm fan to the top of the cooler (yes, taped). It now get some decent airflow to the RAM-sinks.

Before tapey job: RAM was 70*C at load.
After tapey job: 50*C at load.

perfect for a Laptop 8/8/2007 6:24:48 PM

Pros: the water block is 8mm in height and has expandable screw brackets allowing for installation in some (not all) Laptops. in my case it worked perfectly and has dropped temps at idle and load below the lowest idle temp observed with the stock cooling this summer. idle went from 73C to 43C.

Cons: initial one died but by then i had modified it to the point of no replacement. two different pumps used on this product apparently. got one that had the upper right hole open and the replacement had the center hole open. the first type had no kinking the second type does...

Overall Review: soon my howto will be posted in the forums of Hard|OCP along with images showing this all off. one more thing to know about my modification is that i have made this system USB powered and completely detachable.

Great VGA Cooler! 8/8/2007 1:29:18 AM

Pros: This VGA cooling system is great. On my 7800GTX I'm seeing temps drop from 49C idle with the factory HSF, to 36C with the Tide Water. The biggest improvement was seeing my load temps decrease from 79-80C to a maximum of 58-60C.

Cons: 20C is nothing to scoff at and for an all inclusive water cooler that is ready to go, there's not much negative I can say about it.

Overall Review: So long as you install it right, with some ASFive and a good seal on the GPU, you're going to get great results over the stock HSF solution on your Video Card.

A suggestion for better performance... 5/8/2007 10:26:24 PM

Pros: Same as what everyone else has said: It works, it's quiet, and it's reasonably priced. Something that I haven't seen mentioned in other reviews is that the Tidewater can actually help lower your CPU temp also. Because it's "exhaust" vents out the back of the case, it lowers the internal ambient temperature, meaning an air-cooled CPU heatsink is in a cooler environment and can work more efficiently. Don't expect huge drops, but 1-3 degrees CPU core temp is possible.

Cons: It's big.

Overall Review: Here's a suggestion to increase the cooling performance: The hoses inside the plastic shroud are nearly kinked in two places due to space restrictions. I removed the clear plastic cover and pulled the hoses out into more open loops, which increased the coolant flow and lowered temps a bit. It also takes a little strain off the micro-sized pump, which may or may not matter :P. This will take a little more room, so it's probably only useful for those will full tower cases.

Not compatible with 6600 GT 5/6/2007 11:28:45 AM

Pros: Looks nice, i guess. Doesn't consume power if you don't use it.

Cons: Bought this for my Nvidia 6600 GT. Big mistake. It does not fit this kind of card. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no documentation that I could find to indicate this (and thermaltake's site is terrible, with tons of broken links). Given that my card isn't terribly old, and the specifications only state that it's compatible with Nvidia and ATI, I thought I had no reason to suspect it might not be compatible. Now newegg is charging me a restocking fee to return it.

Overall Review: Still looking for something to salvage my 6600 GT. I must admit I feel taken advantage of by this transaction. Hard to make an informed decision when there is no information available.
