Yes it does. I'm currently using said product on a LGA2011. It's practically the easiest of the sockets to mount this to.

can it fit an AMD3+ processor?

Yes, got it on AM 3+ on my setup.  Running 3.2GHz (stock) AMD Phenom II Thuban 1090T overclocked to 3.8GHz with this cooler.  I have owned this cooler for 2 years now and it just started making fan noise and struggles to start up into spinning (the fan needs to be replaced or the cooler as a whole.)  I still recommend it, except for the painful installation.

I know the specs say it will fit and LGA 1150 but watching the video the gentleman when listing off the compatibility dose not say it will, before I purchase this item i would like to know if it fits a LGA 1150?  thank you

Yes, this cooler will fit the LGA 1150 socket. I just installed it on an Asus Z87 Pro + Haswell i5-4670K rig a month ago. I had some hesitation about the lack of explicit 1150 support as well, but I think this may be just due to outdated pre-haswell information, and as it turned out, the 1150 and 1155 share the same cooler mounting hole pattern so it fits without a problem!

will this work on the am3+ socket?, cause i am going to run an amd 8350 in my system and i was wanting this cooler.  If it dosent then i will just go back to my close waterloop plans.  Thanks if you have an answer.

Yes... technically. At least it says that on the box.... Pratically, no. Not out of the box. I'm running an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z mobo with an AMD 8350 CPU. I purchased this cooler to put on it. Yes, it is working. BUT the screws that are supplied are not long enough and do not reach through to the back plate. You will have to bend the AM3+ mounts down with channel locks, then bend the tips of the mounts back out parallel to the mobo. If you do it right, it will work and it is keeping my CPU cool. But it does not work with AM3+ as advertised right out of the box. But will with a little elbow grease and a couple channel locks.

The compatibility for this particular cooler according to it's specifications only supports CPU and Motherboard socket for AM2 / AM2+ / AM3.  The new RYZEN CPU's and Motherboards that support RYZEN are AM4 Socket.

Anyone running this on a Asus Crossblade Ranger with a A10-7850 Kaveri APU? how does it fit and are you happy with the cooling?

I am not running it on a Cross blade but on a Sabertooth. It is doing nicely for me although during installation the mounting screws were too brittle and easily striped so getting it back off in my case is a bit of a problem. Other than that it works great and is very quiet. One thing you might be concerned about is its weight. I know that once I picked this thing up I was like this is going to break my board. One last thing you might want to check out is if you have any fans on the side of your tower. You may run into a issue with them touching or the side of the case will not close because this thing does sit high on the mother board.

Would I be able to replace the LED with a different color?

If you have to ask, then, no.

The LED is in the fan itself--it's practically improbable (not impossible) to replace it without messing up the fan so it would become noisy as the result of you messing with it.  You could replace the fan with another fan but that would require you to buy another one of these coolers with another color of the fan LED and that would defeat the whole purpose of your endevour. This fan is self-re-starting and it's pretty complex when I looked at it closely--there are mini choke and other surface mounted components inside of the fan on a PCB there.  Any messing with it would require highly specialized skills.

Question 8

I am mounting this to a 990fx Sabertooth (AM3 AM motherboard and a friend brought up that the AMD mounting brackets leave a half inch gap between the mount housing and the countersink screws on the back plate. Is this true? Does this come with screw extensions to fix that gap?

My box didn't even come with the silver AMD mounting brackets so I already need to get those sent out.

Yeah, that's about right.  The backplate that goes on the back of the motherboard is flash tight though.  From that back-plate, by the time the screw reaches to the mounting bracket which is located over the CPU, it is about 1/2 inches--that is not wrong but just 'how it is.'  It really is a pointless point for your friend to bring this up because that's 'just how it is' and it's normal.

I believe you are asking about intel clips to mount the heatsink to intel chips? I am not an intel guy, but I can tell you that it did come with a couple different mounting setups including AMD and two others, one I was familiar with and one I wasn't. One I know for sure was a style of intel mounting I had used before and the other looked like a maybe newer style and included some sort of assorted clips, maybe four of them? I believe this is what you are referring to but I can't be positive, hope this helps.

Question 10

Will installation be a pain for my Maximus VII Formula motherboard? I've read several complaints about the fan's installation, and I don't know if my boards 'armor' will be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

It was not easy for me to install it--lots of tension and trying to get the screws to touch with the bracket so that I could start them off.  I had to press the arms of the brackets pretty hard on mine.  AM3 processor here on an 890FX motherboard.  Beside the fact of installation difficulty, you shouldn't have problem with your armor.  Heatsinks are lower on the motherboard than the CPU heatsink you are to install--it towers over them, and remember, it's rounded too on the sides, so that it allows for some extra headroom for motherboard components.
