OK

Pros: Works well when not overclocking. Made a good component for a science fair project.

Cons: Can't remove a large amount of heat.

Cheap But Effective

Pros: It cools everything. All 6 of my temperature sensors read 5-10C cooler at idle after replacing my stock AMD heatsink.

It is overkill for an Athlon X2 and probably more than adequate most other dual core processors. Under full load, even with a moderate overclock, I can't push the cooler fan over 1100 RPM.

It is very quiet. This is probably a result of the low speed at which the fan is running; it runs at the minimum speed except under a sustained high CPU load. I didn't bother testing the loudness of the fan at full speed.

It is a very good value. The heat sink is enormous and heavy. Everything you need is included.

Cons: It isn't very well made. Many of the fins on the one I received had bent edges; the thins are very thin and easy to bend. The heat pipes were actually bent so that the heatsink leaned down closer to the base. There wasn't any serious damage to the packaging so I assume mine was just poorly manufactured.

It is difficult to install without removing your motherboard. The large size of the heatsink makes it difficult to reach the mounting brackets. In smaller cases it would definitely be a tight fit if you could mount it at all.

Because of how much mine was bent, mounting was even more difficult. The mounting clip lever wouldn't clear the heatsink above so I had to pull the heatsink up while pushing the base down, while I turned the lever. In the process I cut my thumb on one of the bent fins...

It takes a little bit more effort to layer on the thermal paste correctly. The gaps in between the heat pipes and the mounting block need to be filled in for a proper installation.

Overall Review: A couple other reviewers noted that the performance of this cooler depends upon how it is oriented. Unfortunately their instructions for installation are less than clear in my opinion. If the cooler is to be mounted on an upright system (tower), it should be mounted with the S-bend towards the bottom and the heat pipes facing **UP**!

I put this on an Athlon 64 X2 (Brisbane) overclocked to 3120 MHz. I used Stability Test 6 to load the CPU. Under a constant 100% load the CPU temperature stabilized just under 40C with the fan running up to ~1100 RPM. That leaves a lot of headroom with the maximum RPM being 1500.

Junk!

Pros: Nice Looking

Cons: This heatsink does not work with my AM2. The copper foot is not big enough to cover the processor no matter how i oriented the heatsink. Needless to say, the processor did not cool the way it was designed.

Overall Review: you get what you pay for, and when a product tries to work with everything, it normally doesnt work at all.

More for show than anything

Pros: Looks good. Like having a huge engine block on your CPU.

Cons: The price is low, and it shows more than I expected. The cooper heat-tubes between the point of contact are weak and easily bent if a light amount of weight is placed on them. The fan is somewhat loud.

Overall Review: The heatsink is very large, and depending on how you have to install it, pushing the pins in can be nearly impossible. If you're installing this on an LGA775 mobo, be ready for an hour-long wrestling match.

Works amazing, but be ready to fight with it

Pros: This HS works great. I have overclocked my e8800 from 3.0 GHz to 3.5 GHz while maintaining a 29C idle temp and 52C full load temp. I replaced the fan that came with it with a Scythe FDB 120mm fan. (granted its probably 68-70F in my room though)

Cons: More of an issue with Intel's mounting brackets then anything else. You definitely will have to install on the mobo before you put the mobo into the case. I thought I had the HS secured to the mobo, installed the mobo and all other hardware. Went to push my video card into place and one of the feet popped out of the mobo that was holding the hs into place. Had to take the mobo out and forcibly jam the feet into place. I had to apply way to much force for my liking to get this thing to stick. Again its more of intel's screwy bracket system then the actual HS's problem.

Overall Review: As an afterthought the copper piping does make it a bit tough to reach your 4 pin 12V ATX connector if its located in the upper left corner of your mobo. Getting to the screw in the upper left corner that secures the mobo is probably a moot point as well.

cools well - different install issues

Pros: great cooling, not loud, PWM fan, looks cool because it's huge.
It kept my e 2160 @ 2.91ghz, 1.43V at 48C under 100% load using two copys of prime95. Room temp 80F
The best cooler for the price. (after rebate)

Cons: Installation is the biggest con. Intel needs a better way to mount processors. After reading other reviews I decided installing the cooler before the MB would be a good idea. I installed the cooler with out a problem. However installing the MB proved difficult. I used a gigabyte d3sl MB. The HS covered the top left screw hole and the 4-pin 12v plug. I didn't get the screw installed. I removed a rear case fan and used needle nosed pliers to get the plug lined up. This took about 10 trys.
Also, the HS touches my power supply.

Overall Review: Has anyone said this thing is huge?!
cooling is 5 stars, the install costs it a star.

Ignore the previous comments

Pros: Good cooler, heres where i call myself an idiot...well not so, the instructions are very vague, if you mount it in a tower with the S bends facing up, it will not cool at all, but flip it over with the s bends down, and i wen from a stock amd heatpipe at 59c under load to 39c under load with the kingwin

Cons: the fan is doa on arrival, put an antec 3 speed on it and have it set to low to get the 39c under load, can only imagine if i stuck it on high, and had to "adjust" the base to fit into my mid-atx case.

Overall Review: alright, jumped the gun on the previous comment, but still, there is nowhere i found online to give help on the mounting of this thing, but hopefully you read this and dont make the initial mistake i did

DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!

Pros: it has a good concept of the heat pipe contact to the actual proc

Cons: well lets see, my stock cooler my 6000+ x2 came with under overclocked and heavy gaming loads it stays at 59 degrees and the Kingwin cooler my system under normal no overclock and gaming it hits 100 plus, blue screens and shuts down...hmm i wonder..yeah its a piece of junk

Overall Review: slight mod to fit the ma69g-s3h board by gigabyte
