I'm new to water cooling, I wanted to know if this requires a reservoir or do I just have to mount it and attach the water block?

This includes everything. The pump, radiator and the coolant. And it’s all pre assembled. You just have to attach the fans to the radiator and you are all set. Also make sure you get the serial number 9060042 it’s the newer version which had the pump issues fixed. The product ending 41 is older version

Question 2

For the H100i Platinum SE, does it come with a lightning node pro to connect the LL fans for RGB, or is there a different way with this AIO?

The water block itself has two rgb wires that connect to the fans.  No node is needed, but that also means there is no way to extend beyond the two fans without adding a lighting node and a rgb fan hub.  If you are looking to have more LL fans, I would suggest getting at least adding a triple pack that comes with the hub and rgb node capable of lighting 6 additional fans.

I have the a Corsair Hydro Series, H100i RGB PLATINUM SE, 240mm Radiator, Dual LL120 RGB PWM Fans, Advanced RGB Lighting and Fan Control with Software, Liquid CPU Cooler. (CW-9060042-WW) does it work with the GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS MASTER LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard?

I have very recently installed the Corsair Hydro Series, H100i RGB PLATINUM SE, 240mm Radiator, Dual LL120 RGB PWM Fans on an MSi LGA 1151 (300 Series) Mainboard with no issues, so this should work equally well on your Gigabyte MB. What you do need to consider is placement within your case (front or top) and whether there is sufficient clearance of peripherals, the GPU in particular if you front-mount the radiator/fan assembly. Is this an AIO?

Yes indeed! AIO (All-In-One) defines a closed, non-refillable (and equally non-serviceable) liquid cooling system. The only part of this system which could be user-modified are the radiator cooling fans, which are off-the-shelf CORSAIR SKU's. I own this particular unit and can recommend. Cheers!

Is this fan compatible with MSI Mystic Light?

These fans are all controlled by Corsair iCUE software. All of Corsairs LL Series fans are controlled through that software. They do not connect to any of your motherboards RGB headers so they cannot be controlled through the motherboard software such as MSI Mystic. For the optimal experience, I purchased this cooler along with a 3 pack of white LL120 fans. The fan pack comes with the 6 fan RGB controller AND a lighting node so you can connect up to 6 more fans or a Corsair RGB light strip pack which I did. It all looks amazing!

Could I use this to cool a GPU, or would I have to buy a different kind of cooler/radiator?   (Sorry, newb...)

Simple answer: No.

This is not designed for that and more than just the central chip needs cooling on a graphics card.  At the mentioned 'newb' level, I would advise blowing out any dust from the graphics card heat sink or getting another case fan to make sure enough cool air is moving through the system.  This could be the cheapest fixes if your graphics card is overheating.

Question 10

What is the thickness of the radiator in total? As in, if this cooler is mounted on the front of the PC, how much does it stick inwards to help determine the max length of graphics card that would fit then. If for say a Meshify C or any compact PC case that would likely not support super long 3-fanned 2080s with this Corsair Water cooler, is there also the possibility to mount this on top?
