Is this a good replacement for my hyper evo 212 fan? Will it perform better?

I am not all that familiar with the hyper evo fans but I wanted a reliable fan that could move a lot of air and was quiet. These are the only fans I find that can fit all those requirements. I have a fan controller on them and they are virtually silent and yet even at the reduced speeds move more air than most at full speed. These also once installed are durable and will continue to provide many hours of trouble free service. I have bought many fans of all sizes and these consistently come out the best for air flow and lack of trouble. I also find the specs of most fans to be way off actual performance so you learn by trial and error.

Question 2

How does this fan compare to the other Noctua with PWM? And is this fan for intake? I never really understood how to tell if a fan was for intake outtake or both.

The links below were helpful for me when I bought this fan as well as the PWM fans (2 on radiator). This fan has a lower maximum RPM than the PWM fans. I use the PWM fans for my radiator and 3xNoctua NF-P12-1300 for my case. These fans are by far the best built, best packaged, and most thought out fans I've ever dropped coin on. I use a fan controller that I also bought from Newegg.

Question 3

Would this fan be a good choice for replacing the stock fans on my Corsair H80i AIO cooler? Its the generation before the current one model. Its just so loud and I would like my temps to be lower as well. If these are a bad choice can someone direct me to the right fans, or let me know if its even worth replacing the fans. The noise is from going thru the rad fins which the air is then going the the case holes. Its just a noisy mess. I'm going to turn the fans around and see if that help. I currently have the as exhaust. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I used four of these on the inlet of my case and found them to move the air at a rate (subjectively) twice the original fans and noticeably quieter. it's the scalloped blade trailing edge,  and they are good up close to stuff with a good static pressure profile. Hope this helps.

Ok so I want to buy a 3rd fan to mount it to my DH-14 does this come with the mounting bracket?

This is a 3 pin fan that comes with 4 metal and 4 rubber fan screws as well as a splitter for two fans to one motherboard connector, an extension cable and a couple of cables with resistor to reduce maximum speed. I believe there is also a molex connector. I use mine on a Cooler Master air cooler on my cpu on an Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard capable of controlling them by changing the bios to "Advanced". They move a lot of air and are reasonably quiet. They do scream "Quality".

How do you use the 3 different speeds with this fan?  I will be putting it in a OWC Thunderbay IV.

The only speed control is the low noise adapter that comes with it. That just lowers the voltage which in turn lowers the speed. However these fans are incredibly quiet. At their highest speed you can barely hear them. After installing 3 of these in our new 4U server I have been using everything Noctua since.

hey i have a 212 evo cooler plus. and one fan facing the back of the case pushing air out of the fan in the back of the case pusing more air out of the case. should i put this on the opposite side of the evo212 to push air into the two fans that push air out the back of the case? and is this fan silent and strong?

I would put the second fan on the PC casing that would pull the air out of the case, instead of attaching it to the opposite side, as for silent and strongness, i think that the fan is fairly silent under idle conditions, but under load can get pretty load, at least enough to notice it while using the PC. I'm not too sure about strongness but my CPU with evo 212 stays around 40-50 under load and 15-30 in idle conditions.

Will this fan work for a CPU fan & would it fit onto a Coolmaster Hyper 212/evo?

No the fans on the hyper 212 are 2000 RPM fan you would need the industrial Nocutua NF-F12 . Look for 2000RPM 120mm fans

You could, if you so wished put 7 of these in there if you wanted to spend that much.  These fans are awesome BTW.  I usually just pitch the fans that come with the cases and replace them with these or the 140mm ones.

These or the NF-s12a noctua fans for Case fans in the NCASE m1?

I'm not sure what application you are using your PC build for, but in all likelihood, the noise reduction you'd get from using the NF-s12a would not be noticeable.

Question 10

Can these run at 5V on a fan controller? I've seen some that can and some that can't.

If the fan is rated at 12V it is likely that the motor will not even spin up when only 5V is applied.
