I have an old fashioned stereo receiver.  Do these speakers use speaker wire to connect to the receiver?

no, these speakers are computer speakers. they connect through a computer's audio output plugs. it may be possible to re-wire them for use with a home stereo, but would advise against it. the sound on these speakers is decently big for a comp but not enough to fill a large room

Sitting up how tall and how wide is it ?

In inches, they are 5 3/4 W, 15 1/16 H, 6 6/16 D.  Allow for set-up, in inches, 6 W, 15 1/4 H, 8 1/2 D (cable room depth).  They have rubber pads on the bottom so there is NO vibration noise, they are surprisingly very clean sounding and can be turned up very loud without distortion.  I'm very please with them and have recommended them to friends.  I get 'wow's when friends hear them.  They are a bargain at $70.  Highly recommended.  FYI, I normally don't do reviews...but this is worth the praise.  I'm a musician and I use them to play music cds, youtube, etc. that I play along with for practice...sounds like the band is right there with you.  Again, Highly recommended.

What impedance are the speakers?

The Tweeters are 6phm and the woofers are 8ohm. I love these speakers, they are more than loud enough for my edit system, and I edit music performances on a regular basis.

how to hook up to a kyle receiver?

I did not hook up my these Genius speakers to a receiver - just my computer. I used the stereo cable with one light green end and the other end has two plugs - one red and one white. The light green one goes into the audio port on the back of my computer and the red and white plugs go into the "AUDIO IN 2" port on the back of the right speaker. I'm not an audiophile, but the speakers sound pretty good and loud - played various Swan Lake pieces from a CD and "Eminence Front" by The Who at about 90% of the maximum volume control.

what are the speaker dimesions and are they 2.0,walmart has the same brand speakers that are 2.0 but different dimension and carry the same product number sp-hf1800a?

I own these speakers, bought them over a year ago to use on my editing system in a video/audio production company.  love the sound quality, and more than enough punch to satisfy. They are: 5.75" wide,  6.5" deep, and 15" tall.

Question 6

Can I wall mount these? And if so, what wall mounts would you recommend? If not, which speakers can I get with the same quality/price range and have wall mounting capability?

As a construction worker, anything can be wall mounted. But if you're asking this question I wouldn't recommend doing that with these. They are big, heavy and have plugs in the back. I just own these, not an expert on speakers so I can't recommend you an alternative.
