Question 1

i want to know if these have a good sound to them. im currently using a 20 year old Advent 2.1 system and have been using them for the last 16 years. back in the day, Advent was right up there with Bose. so before getting these replaced with a newer set, would these sound better?

Hi Chris.  These Logitech speakers are definitely going to be better than your Advent system.  They don't look like much in the picture but they are quite louder than you think.

I had an 8 year-old 2.1 system before I got these and the bass and sound quality on these speakers are much better.

The added features of bass control right on the speaker along with headphone jack is a plus on this system.

Overall, the sound is more crisp and clearer than my old system.  So, I'm sure this system will be much better than your 20-year old system.

Question 2

I just want to verify that the subwoofer is 9 inches wide?  I have a desk with a 9.5 inch cubby space that I need to fit this in.  Height and depth won't be an issue.

Question 3

Would this function as a headset amp?  It has a headphone jack, but I'm wondering if it just functions as an unaltered line out.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I will say that I've owned these for 2.5 years and they're great (I use earbuds ~ 25% of the time).
