How do I connect this to my home computer?

There should be a 3.5mm jack on your computer that takes microphone input. If your computer has it, there should be some kind of image indicating it is for a microphone. For example, the headphone jack, which looks just like microphone jack in this case, has an image of headphones next to it. Keep in mind a lot of customers were having trouble with this item. This includes me. I never got it to work and had to buy a similar microphone from another company...

says only works with win 95/98/xp and such....wont work with windows 8?

It works with any sound card or chipset that works with normal microphones and that you have drivers for. It was developed in the XP era, so that's what it lists.

Would this be go for gaming, Skype and YouTube videos?

To be honest, the transmit volume is extremely low. My old microphone ended up being better and I missed the window to return. I would not recommend this product for any of the things you described.
