Can this mount on top of a monitor?

I bought one, and it clips to the top (or side) of a monitor. The clip is strong, rubber-lined so no damage, and the speaker works great, with an on/off switch & volume control.

Question 2

Does this have a volume control on the speaker itself?
I'm thinking of getting one to hook to a turntable that has no volume control.

It does, I however barely used them, since I was using it with a laptop. So I can't really comment on how well it works,but mine actually had volume buttons, not a knob like it shows in the picture.

How long are the USB and audio cords?

I just measured the cords on mine and got about 42 inches from the speaker case to the tips of the plugs.  P.S. The audio plug broke pretty easily when my kids pulled it side-to-side while plugged in. Also although it says it has a 3.5mm jack (which I took to mean you could plug headphones into it), it does not, it only has a 3.5mm plug!
