Yes, I use it with windows 7. My only problem with this scanner is you cannot put in multiple pages after 2 or 3 it aborts and you have to start over. I am going to look for something that will take multiple forms. Otherwise it has been a good product.

If you have a job with legal and letter paper combined, can the scanner handle it without user interruption?

Technically, yes.  The scanner can handle multiple document sizes in the same batch.  However, the pickups aren't great after two years of light use, so multiple pages can be a problem.  If you fold the page forward after inserting them, it works a little better.  The software makes it very easy to add pages to a scan job.

Mark, The specs say that it is 7 compatible.  I've been using it with XP and we all know where that is going.  I'll be making the changeover to 7 (definitely not 8), so I'll find out first hand, but all information is that it is fully compatible with 7. Hope that helps.

What is the scanning speed for 8.5x11 sheets?

It depends on how many you do at a time.   It also depends if you are only scanning the fronts, or if you are scanning both sides at once.

I found that the limiting factor is usually the speed of the scanning software, not the scanner itself.    This scanner is incredibly fast.   But what happens is it scans the sheets faster than the scanning software can process them.   And so, it will usually scan maybe 10 sheets very quickly, and then have to wait for the scanning software to catch up.   Perhaps if I were using a faster computer, it may help.

So, if you are only scanning a few sheets at a time, I'd say maybe one or two seconds per page at most.     If you scan 50 or 60 sheets at a time, be prepared to sit there for a while.   However, that's a limitation of any scanner, not just this one.

Is it Twain_32 compatible?

I'm sorry but my computer skills are limited.  My laptop operates on Windows 7 professional.  We have a couple of Mac computers as well.  This  scanner was compatible with both. This is the reason why I purchased them.  I'm not familiar with twain.  If you google search the manual for this unit, it may be of some help to you.  I'm sorry I could not be of much help.

No.  Sorry.   The device only has a USB interface.   So, it will not support a wireless connection on its own.
