Am I able to connect this scanner to a network port, so several users should be able to scan into different computers?

Accepted Answer

Yes and no.  The scanner connects to a computer via USB.  However the scanner comes with one touch software that allows you to program multiple selections of the scan button on the scanner itself.  You can pre-define the how a scan job will be handled.  For example, selection 1 could be programed to scan to a shared drive on the server and not require any interaction from the user of the computer it is connected to.  Option two could be set to send it as and email.  Section 3 could be set to scan to a workstations shared folder.  So even though it is not a direct network scanner it is possible to scan to network shares and such.  Also the one touch feature makes it easy to setup un monitored processes so that users dont have to do anything but press a button.

is this  model twain compliant and is it good for heavy usage?

It comes bundled with twain drivers. We use it about 20 pages a day for that last 4 months with no problems.
