Does it scan both sides of business cards and does it scan in color?

Yes the scanner will scan both sides of a business card, one side at a time (e.g. you have to flip the card and run it through the scanner a 2nd time).

And yes, this little guy scans in color or B&W.  You just set which you want in the scanning software controls.

Been using Neat Receipts scanners since 2008 through 4 generations and each has been better than the one before!!

Besides size, what are the differences between the portable and the larger scanners?

The desktop I believe will feed your receipts where the portable you manually feed your receipts one at a time.

then you just have a scanner, nothing more. contact neat, go to their website and if it was new as a gift they will let you open a ticket and they are good about helping.
