Does this unit ship with a battery or will i have to buy one separate?

It ships with the battery, and overall works well EXCEPT for my usage with a home security system it does not start up again automatically after a power outage and the battery runs out.  In these Reviews they said it does, but that is not true.  I called directly to the manf and the guy told me he checked with engineers and IT DOES NOT.   However it is supposed to if you connect to a computer; I have not confirmed this.   But it ships with the battery and lasts the 20 or 30 minutes they claim.

Question 2

Description reads "CyberPower Intelligent LCD Series CP825LCD 825 VA 450 Watts 4 x 5-15R Battery/Surge Protected 4 x 5-15R Surge Protected Outlets UPS".

To me this seems to say that only 4 of the 8 outlets are backed up by the battery while all outlets are surge protected. Is this correct or are all 8 outlets backed up by the battery?

Hello KC,
         I am looking at my, CyberPower CP750LCD 750 VA 420 Watts 8 Outlets UPS, right now while I am typing this and 2 white icons printed on top of the case next to the outlets identify 4 of them as SURGE and the other 4 as SURGE/BATTERY. It is a great UPS and I have never had had any problems with it. I did have the software that comes with it installed on my computer at one time to monitor the UPS but decided to uninstall it because I did not need it. It works 24/7 and when the power goes out or has a surge it protects my equipment. That's all I needed to know. You will not be disappointed with this unit.  Craig

One more question before I make my final choice....the power outages in my area are frequent when there are storms but they rarely last for more than a minute or two. About half the time when it happens I'm away at work or asleep (my computer is "on" 24/7), will this UPS device reset itself after a power outage automatically or does it require a manual reset?

The device will automatically switch back to wall power when power is restored. however, if the current draw is close to the device max rating, power may drop out momentarily since the switching is done with a relay and will take a few ms to switch from battery to mains AC. 
If a SURGE (voltage spike) occurs, you need to manually reset the breaker (small black button near the power cord) to restore mains input). __This is very rare.__
 If surge occurs, the battery will still output power, at least this was my experience  after  a power outage where when power was restored, the voltage spiked, tripping the breaker, since the transient voltage suppression is not super great.
These are great units overall, I have bought 4 of them, 2 for use with retail POS equipment, and 2 at home for my main computer and networking equipment. 
If you have an insane gaming rig with a 1KW max output PSU, then these will not be sufficient, but if you have a PSU with a max output of 600W or less, they will be fine as long as you are not mining crypto-currency or doing something that heavily taxes your CPU or GPU when the power goes out.

how long wopuld this last on a 850w power supply? it's bronze certified

This UPS--when NEW--will last from 1 to 10 minutes DEPENDING on the power demand from your plugged-in devices.   The wattage of your computer's power supply is NOT the key factor, but rather the total wattage demand from all your devices plugged into the UPS.   
For example, IF your computer has (1) SSD in it and no high-powered audio and/or video graphics cards in it, so that the only electrical demand on the UPS is the motherboard, SDRAM, SSD, and a 24" LCD monitor, then this UPS will keep everything powered for maybe 6-10 minutes.
HOWEVER, the older the UPS gets (especially 2+ years) and the more hard disk drives (not SSD's), special motherboard cards, special SDRAM, bigger monitor, speakers, etc., THEN this UPS may only last 5-60 SECONDS!!  
IF you really want years of UPS reliability, THEN buy a UPS with at least 1500 Watts of battery, AND REPLACE the battery every 2-3 years!!

So when the power goes out about how long are you able to stay on and continue working on your computer?

Question 6

I'm looking for something that I can wall mount in the demarc of one of my offices so when the power goes down in the building the networking equipment in the demarc has enough life left to let an e-mail get out to us.  There are no pictures of the back of the unit, is there a way to wall mount this thing?

However strongly recommend min of 750 va rating for this use
