Yes, and it works well with the car (blue tooth) speakers.  If you are also playing music through blue tooth it will interrupt the music to give you directions as needed.

Yes it does.. And it works pretty good.  I guess it matters how quite your car is though as to how well it will work for you.

Yes. The gps will prompt you whenever you have to make an exit and the arrows will display on the split screen so you dont get lost.

I  am borrowing a Garmin nuvi 1490 that displays the elevation.  the pictures on this site do not seem to show a model with that  delightful feature.  Can the elevation be displayed on this one or one of the others at newegg?

Yes it can.  You just tap the "Arrival Time" on the map and it will list the options you can choose from. One of which is elevation.

Throwback Deals sent a "white box" refurbished unit.  The factory thermal label was manipulated to remove any reference to the fact that it was refurbished (both the SKU description and the "refurbished unit" text on either side of the SKU barcode).  However, the SKU on Throwback Deals packing list clearly displayed "010-01123-30" but the white box thermal label displayed "010-N01123-30".  I called Garmin's customer support the evening that I received the device and they were kind enough to verify that the serial number had been refurbished and that "010-N01123-30" is a refurbished SKU.

I called Newegg customer service the next morning and provided photos of the product packaging.  They agreed to contact Throwback Deals and investigate.  After one month, an RMAed returned, the package coming back as undeliverable from the Throwback Deals address on file at Newegg and Newegg just did the right thing and took care of the refund.

The unit I received was new. If you buy from newegg they will say whether new or refurb. I personally do not trust the other dealers that sell from the newegg site and have had many issues with them.

I bought my Garmin nuvi 2597LMT from Newegg and it was new in the box.  I have since registered it with Garmin and am happy to say that it works great.  On my last map update, I did have to install a SD Micro chip (8GB) to increase the memory for downloading and still no problems.  I consider it a great buy!
