The GARMIN GPS 18x is a high sensitivity, 12-parallel-channel, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver, enabling fast, accurate positioning and velocity estimates. Based on the proven technology found in other Garmin GPS receivers, the GPS 18x quickly provides precise navigation updates with low power consumption. The puck-like receiver is 2.4" (6.1cm) in diameter and weighs just a few ounces, making it an ideal solution for automotive, fleet vehicle, and other applications where space is at a premium.
This GARMIN GPS 18x USB Model comes complete with a non-volatile memory for storage of configuration information, a real-time clock, and raw measurement output data for sophisticated customer applications. It has an A-style USB connector, compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 full-speed hosts, and can output data in the Garmin exclusive format only.
Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS)-Enabled
WAAS, a system of satellites and ground stations, provides GPS signal corrections. WAAS-enabled GPS systems provide theoretical accuracy of less than 10 feet (3 meters).
Rugged Design
The rugged design allows continuous exposure to prevailing weather conditions at most locations.
Built-In Battery
The onboard rechargeable backup battery can maintain the real-time clock for up to 10 days.
Use in Small Spaces
This high-sensitivity, 12-parallel-channel, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver is available in CMOS-level serial or USB 2.0 full-speed versions and comes with an integrated magnetic base. The puck-like receiver is 2.4" (6.1cm) in diameter and weighs just a few ounces, making it an ideal solution for applications where space is at a premium.
