Question 1

Just wanted to double check, I see that this PC comes with 6GB of Ram, but is that also the maximum memory capacity? or can more memory be added to this machine? Thank you.

I opened the unit to find 6 1 Gb memory modules.  Looks like you'd need to replace the memory with larger capacity.   Memory is pc3 10600 registered so it will likely be a more expensive upgrade than usual.  This unit has a very differnt memory configuration.  3 modules are attached to a Daughter board. 3 are installed on the mobo.    Be VERY careful when removing the daughterboard.  Very easy to reseat incorrectly and damage pins

The description states "DUAL Xeon Quad Core E5530" but there is no further mentioning of having two processors. Does this system have two processor or one?

would this machine be acceptable as a home personal computer? is it versatile enough to be used in non-business applications,such as multi-media music,video etc?

My intended use of the T5500 is as a home computer.   Normal business apps, some ridiculous spreadsheets, video watching/recording and a bit of audio. Certainly more than enough horsepower with 8 processors.

High end video editing would probably be better served by more RAM and a better video card but with the pricing on this machine you can put the $$ saved towards those products.

Would this make a good gaming desktop? Also, does it have USB 3.0?

We bought ours to be used as a Microsoft Visual Studio compiler, for software development and it is very fast.  With the dual xeons, it compiles easily twice as fast as the older core i7 machine it replaced.  I can't speak about gaming, but as far as processing, I don't think you can buy anything faster at this low price.    My guess is you might want to yank out and replace the older Quadro video card with perhaps something a little bit newer, but I'm sure you know that high end gamer video cards will cost more than this entire computer.    A lot of gamer processing occurs in the video card hardware, not the CPUs.   You might find the video card it comes with isn't bad - and you can google the specs on the Quadrow NVS 290 video card to see what it's benchmarks may be with various games.   I was so impressed with the machine, I am planning on buying a few more of these, as soon as I get the money... if they don't run out of stock.

Question 5

Copy says 2 DVI ports, but only one is shown in the photo.  Which is it?  If 2, are there two video cards?  How many open slots and of which type?
