Lucas Arts created a new Force in entertainment with the creation of Lego Star Wars. Now, Lego Star Wars 2: Original Trilogy continues the light-hearted romp through the Star Wars Universe. Like any good sequel, it improves upon the original with better graphics, richer environments, an expansive musical score and even zanier antics and jokes.
The pick-up-and-play style of the original is retained as players lead groups of two to six minifigs. Jump between characters in your party and use their unique skills to overcome obstacles and enemies. While Han Solo can blast Stormtroopers into Lego pieces at long range, Obi Wan's Force powers and lightsaber skills lets him alternately befuddle or disassemble enemies close at hand. And, you're going to need R2-D2 to open a locked door that blocks your way.
It's not all combat. Solve multi-solution puzzles and challenges by building or disassembling items in your surroundings. Instant "Drop In/Drop Out" lets other players join or leave the game as you travel through the worlds and events of the Trilogy. Cooperative play extends to the vehicles which can roam freely through the regions whether it’s Luke's Landspeeder or the Millennium Falcon. Create custom characters by combining parts. Saved games from the original Lego Star Wars game unlock another 50 characters. With a galaxy's worth of fun for the entire family the Force is with you!
With a whimsical take on the original Star Wars Trilogy -- A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi -- LEGO Star Wars II for Xbox 360 follows the Rebel Alliance's battle to dismantle the Galactic Empire and rebuild a galaxy in pieces. From Darth Vader's pursuit of Princess Leia aboard her blockade runner to a showdown on the reconstructed Death Star, the game includes even more of the family-friendly LEGO action, puzzles and humor that earned the original LEGO Star Wars such popularity and acclaim.
LEGO Star Wars II also has many new features to offer. For the first time ever, certain on-foot levels feature constructible vehicles and creatures that players can ride or exit at will. Also, in LEGO Star Wars II's Free Play mode, gamers can customize more than 50 new playable characters by mixing and matching body parts, forming the likes of "Stormbacca" and "Chew Vader." And by using a game save from the first LEGO Star Wars, as many as 56 additional characters can be unlocked for Free Play -- that's more than 100 characters total, plus thousands of possible creations! Other additions include character-specific attacks and maneuvers, Power Brick power-up items, playable mini-kits, an improved two-player camera, tougher puzzles, increased difficulty levels and more.
