Question 1

Buying this for my daughter who has a smartphone, don't know which one.  So
1) Will it work with all smartphones?
2) What's the deal with USB1.0, USB 2.0 -- aren't those the same jack.
3) What's the deal with 1A & 2.1A outputs.  Does the 2.1 just charge the cell phone faster or will it blow up the cell phone?

1) I have this device and yes it should work with all cell phones. (Including Apple). Some tablets get persnickety about power sources.  The advantage of being over 10,000 mAh is the ability to charge a phone multiple times and tablet like an iPad once.  The 5,500 mAh or lower units are only useful for cell phones.

2) Not sure what you mean about USB 1.0 and 2.0 not relevant here.

3) Most cell phones only need a 1 amp charge source.  Most tablets need 2 amps or even more.  You can plug a phone into either port - the phone will only draw what it needs.

Hi,

Will this power both my Galaxy s111 and my Galaxy tab 3?  Also, does it charge more than one time before it has to be recharged itself?

Based on specifications I found online, your SIII should have a battery capacity of 2100 mAh and your Galaxy Tab 3 should have a capacity of 4000 mAh. You can charge both devices simultaneously. I have done it with a Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7, which are similar devices to your phone and tablet.

If you run them both down to almost empty before charging, you should be able to charge them both at least once with another partial charge. There are some inefficiencies in batteries like this that generally mean you can't get the full rated charge out of them, so practically speaking you might get 9000 mAh of charge our of this. It'll take 6100 mAh out of that 9000 mAh to charge them both once. You will not be able to get two complete charges for both devices since that would be more than the total capacity of the battery, but you should be able to get around 1.5 charges on both devices.

Question 3

What does fully charged look like on the battery?  Does the LEDs turn off or does the 4th LED keep blinking when fully charged just like it does when it is charging?

When all 4 bars are illuminated (Steady no flashing) it means it's fully charged. If the 4 light keeps flashing and never stops; it means something might be wrong with the device. Send it back if it's still under warranty. I have 2 (one for me and my wife) and my only complaint is: If I charge my IPAD, it will drain the IOGEAR down to 2 bars. The left you might get away with fully charging your IPHONE or other mobile device.

Is this compatible with Galaxy 4S?

Only the 2.1 amp connector will charge it fast enough.  When I'm using gps or playing music the 1 amp only slows the discharge.
To refute the USB is All the same claims.  My iPad  air 2 doesn't like either port charging equally slowly from both.

The charger is cool though.  When I was using that phone this device was capable of more than 4 charges from near dear.

does it come with a charger to charge it up? Do you have to buy a charger for it? Can it use a micro usb charger from another device to charge it up?

It does come with a charger to charge it up (500 mA output). No, you don't have to buy a charger for it. It can use any usb charger from another device (including USB from a laptop), but it will not charge faster with a higher output charger.

Could you tell me how long will it take to fully charge an iPhone and an iPad? Thanks.

iPhone: This Charges everything I own in about 2/3rd's the time compared to the standard charger that came with the device. I do not own an iPad. I own several iPhone 4's, a couple Windows Phone 8's, a 7" Nexus 7, and I've loaned this to friends when sitting in meetings and it's charged their devices faster than usual, they all say. Giving an exact time is impossible because there are too many variables (Example: is your phone GPS'ing at the same time you are charging, then it will charge slower, etc.). Relative to any other charging method I use, this charges formidably faster.

What is the output of the AC adapter (V/A)?

An AC adapter isn't included nor needed. This device can be charged by directly connecting it to your computer or any usb wall charger. It works with our 1.5Amp blackberry chargers, iPad and iPod chargers (with a different cable, not apple's proprietary one) as well as our Kindle fire wall chargers.  We have several external battery packs and this is our favorite one. You won't be disappointed if bought at the shell shocker price under $40

is this product dual voltage?

No.  It is not dual voltage:  It has 2 regular 5 volt USB outlets.  However, it does have 2 different amperage rate charge outlets.  One is rated at 1 amp and the other is 2.1 amp output for faster charge rates.

I do not know that there is any actual difference in the charging rates from the two different ports, but I know that there is a lot of reserve in this unit, and it will charge an i-phone several times before it goes dead.  Because it has such a large capacity, it takes a while to recharge itself.

Can I use my normal iPhone usb cord with this power station? Or do the openings on this power station only support the micro usb cord that comes with it?

Yes you can. It has two USB ports. One delivers 5V at 1A and the other delivers 5V at 2.1A. The 2.1 port will charge slightly faster than your standard 1A wall transformer that comes with your iPhone. The included micro USB cable is just a bonus for us Android phone owners :)

It is Okay to charge 2 phones at once. Never tried charging 2 tablets at once. You might need to check your tablet charging current. The two charging ports of this device have different charging current ports (one 1A and one 2.1A port).
