Does the base have the plug and phone line , and the extra headset does it have the plug?

You will not go wrong on this phone. This is the second set of phones I have purchased. I believe Consumer reports gives it 2 thumbs up.

Question 2

Is this compatible with 220 volt AC?

Accepted Answer

The plug-in power transformer that came with my unit says:
"100 - 120 Volts AC 60 cycles  100 ma"

So, you would need to use a 220 to 110 volt power converter. But it wouldn't have to be a very powerful converter, because the Panasonic power transformer only requires apporox. 10 watts of power.

Question 3

Hi, Can I transfer a call from 1 handset to another?

Likely, but I have never tried to.  Google the manual, it might have the answer.  We are completely satisfied with this phone set.  Never had a problem, the reception is great, even out in the back yard.  Will be buying a few additional phones for a few other rooms.  Sorry I can't answer the question, however....but I am pretty sure you can transfer from one to another.

I would like to know if both of the" handsets" have a headphone jack
on the sides?

Yes. Both of my handsets have a headphone jack. It's located on the left side (as you're facing the keypad), approximately 2/3 of the way down from the top of the handset.

Question 5

Also, If I am on one handset and another caller dials my number but I choose not to switch over (call waiting--wait, I'm assuming this system has that function; does it?) will the second handset make some kind of noise to alert whoever is sitting next to it that a second call is coming in?

Call waiting is a feature of your service provider, not of the telephone itself. Only handsets that are in use will hear the call-waiting tone generated by your service provider; I believe you are asking if a handset that is not in use will signal this tone. It will not.

Thanks for the speedy response.  
I will have two phone lines, so when I am on one line and another call comes in, I will hear a beep.  I can then click over and speak to the second caller.  If that caller wants to speak to someone else in my business, can I transfer that caller to the second handset and then switch back to my original caller?
