about how far will my cordless phone reach, on level ground, with this range extender?

I have it operating at 210 ft. (measured) Direct line of sight through double pane glass at one end and through 1" of wood wall at the other. It is at the edge of it's range. A tree limb will block it as well as rotating the base station a bit or moving it a few feet. 
The repeater is in an unheated building but has been working at below freezing temperatures.
I wish these things came with an external antenna.

Can two different extenders be used to cover a large area.   One north of the base and one south of the base?

Hi Briant D, yes, we have our router at the Boat House and to the one side of the Boat House (at the Guest Wing-about 100' away) we have one extender to extend to the Main House-another 150' or so, and on the other side of the Boat House we have Guest House 1 and we have an extender down in the boat level of the Boat House and it extends to Guest House 1 about 300' away.  These work well for what we wanted them to do at this Lake Project.

Is this Range Extender Panasonic KX-TGA405B compatible with my new phone system KX-TG6844?

Probably not. A previous post by me quoted the owner's manual listing compatibility with your phone system. That compatibility is based upon the older KX-TGA405 range extender and NOT the newer -405B model.

what is power supply?

I have the extender about 50ft from the base unit, and the remote phone as about another 40 ft beyond the extender. This is thru several walls. I have run this arrangement for over a year, and it work fine. 
Power  supply: 110-120v, 60Hz, 100mA. output: 6.5v, 500mA.
There is no indication that it will operate at 240v 50Hz.

Dpes the extemder work horizonally- 1st floow going to the 3rd

Should work fine.  My base phone is on the first floor and the extender is hanging on an outside wall on the 2nd floor.  I can get a decent signal about 1000ft from the house.  Note that the phone will only switch to the extender when the signal from the base unit weakens.

No it did not, I had to return it. Range extenders are model and make specific, A Panasonic range extender will only work with a Panasonic phone model that it is compatible with. It is hard to understand from the specs the exact compatibility, but it will only work with this specific model. I was looking for a "universal" extender that would work with any wireless phone, and could not find one.

On the one I have, the power supply adapter lists only 110v 60Hz. There is no indication of 220v 50Hz.

Yes it does, quite well I might add. I have a very large house and detached workshop and good connectivity everywhere . Longest distance from the base I have been is about 150 feet and it is clear as can be.
