would you know if there is a external plug that would accomodate a headset on the main device?

Accepted Answer

There is not a headset jack on the main set, which makes sense since the main set is not mobile.  However, there is a headset jack on each of the wireless handset units.

Question 2

Can you use this phone if your voicemail service acts as an answering machines.  That is, can you set this up without activating the answering machine part?

Hopefully this helps. What I do is just turn of the answering machine and it just goes to a voice mail that I have set up for a cel number. If that is what you meant by your voice service acting as an answering machine the answer is yes. Just to be clear, I have my cel phone set up so it forwards calls to it and my cel phone's voice mail acts as my answering machine.

I'm looking for someone how have experience using this phone during a power outage. dose the cordless worked well?

This phone works great. The cordless handsets are very clear and natural sounding. I have used other cordless sets in the past and this one is the best I've owned. I don't have experience using during a power outage.

Question 5

Is there a standard jack for plugging in a headset?  If yes, does it plug in to the base phone or either of the external handsets?  I work from home and am on the phone a lot and need to talk hands free.

Yes. The Panasonic headset is available though I have not purchased it but I did look at it, actually you could purchase any brand. Each phone has it's own standard receptacle for headset/hands free use. Also each base will plug into any wall socket to be powered. Tis is a very good phone, worth the $$$.

Does this work on 240v and also is the plug a standard US plug or does it have adapters for other countries?

Unfortunately, it will not work on 220-240 v. it might be not only the electrical power issue but a frequency issue. Our family lived overseas in Europe two years and we were not able to use similar Panasonic phone model their even plugged in  through the special transformer (240v to 110v).

Is there a way, when a call is coming in, to push it right to voicemail? and when the voicemail is recording, to keep it silent?

From what I can tell, the lowest setting is 2 rings before it answers-
See page 61 of the User manual. If you don't have it, download it- can't post a link here- but just Google: Panasonic KXTG7875S User Manual...You could also silence the rings so you don't hear any- see page 44....I don't see anyway to silence the outgoing message unless you silence the whole unit.

Can you preprogram the area code so you don't have to dial it each time?
