I want to use this on my kindle fire audio output to my automobile radio input so I can listen to my audio books on my kindle in my car; so will this jack work as a standard size jack?

It should. It's the standard, headphone-sized jack. I've used mine to connect my iPod Nano to my car stereo, and my computer to my TV set.
