Will this cable work with the Direct TV "Genie" and it's "client"?

This is a standard HDMI cable.  the only thing that makes it "slim" is that it doesnt have a large profile like most other cables.  It can fit in some tight clearances.  Great product!

Does this output 1440p?

HDMI cables like these should support resolutions at least up to 2560×1600 nowadays. You just have to make sure your devices' HDMI out port supports resolutions that high, and check the max resolution of the TV/screen you'll be using. Hope that helps!

Are these cables rated to be run in-wall?

I think there should be no problem at all. Make sure you follow the correct direction (the bigger piece goes to the TV, not going to work otherwise) As far as legal rating goes, you should probably ask the manufacturer.
