The StarTech.com MUHSMF2M is a 2-meter 3.5mm 4-position TRRS headset extension cable with a male plug and female jack, suited to users who need more reach from a compatible headset on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Recommended For
- Wired headset users working at a laptop or desktop whose headset cable falls short of their desk setup; the 2 m extension adds reach between the headset and a 3.5 mm port.
- People taking calls or participating in voice chats on a compatible phone, tablet, or computer who need extra distance while keeping a wired headset’s audio and microphone connected.
- PC gamers using a wired TRRS headset who want to sit farther from the computer without giving up headset audio or microphone use; a customer review reports both working when extended.
- Users whose headset cable needs a modest extension for a mostly stationary setup; this cable adds 2 m rather than replacing the headset or requiring a wireless setup.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- At a desk, a user connects a wired headset to a laptop with a compatible 3.5 mm headset jack and needs more room to sit back or reposition the laptop; the extension adds reach while carrying headphone audio and the headset microphone.
- During phone or tablet calls, a user wants to keep the device on a desk or stand while wearing a wired headset; with a compatible TRRS headset and device, the added cable length lets them move more freely without holding the device.
- For gaming on a laptop or another device with a single compatible headset jack, a player can extend a wired headset’s reach to sit farther from the device; the headset mic can remain usable when the connection and headset use compatible TRRS wiring.
- When recording voice or joining a video call from a laptop, a user can place the computer farther from their seated position while keeping a wired headset connected; this is intended for devices with a compatible 4-pole headset connection.
