Is it true that Acer locked the bios thereby preventing the use of an add-on graphics card?

I recently purchased two  "Aspire ATC-780-UR11" Acer computers and added video cards to both.  One video card is  "VGA GeForce GT 730 DirectX 12 02G-P3-1733-KR".  Since it had a current draw on the 12 volt rail that exceeded the 300 Watt supply, I replaced the supply with a "Thermaltake Smart Series 500W SLI/CrossFire Ready Continuous Power ATX 12V V2.3 / EPS 12V 80 PLUS Certified ..."  To make sure the driver install goes smoothly on the video cards, I download the drivers and then install them in administrative mode (right click on the executable, and at the top is administrative mode).  All upgrades went smoothly, and the Acer computers are working great. ( I also replaced the Acer keyboard and mouse with Logitech keyboard and mouse.)

Does this machine support dual monitors (not the duplicated screen type -- the type where the desktop is stretched across the two monitors) ???

Yes, I am running mine with Dual 24" Asus monitors. One is VGA, other is HDMI. Working well so far.

Question 3

So can we update the graphics card on this unit if we want to later on?

You can, but you will likely need a power supply as this computer only has 300W. There is only 1 PCI-E slot though, and it is a tight fit inside the case. I ended up having to shave off some material from my GTX660 card so be aware of this when purchasing your card.

Question 4

Can I add additional hard drives to this desktop (it has available slots, power, etc.)?

It has the physical space for an additional hard drive but no additional SATA3 cable connection. It does have two M.2 SATA3 slots for solid state drives. The M.2 slots are hard to find but they are there.

Question 5

I have this one and the audio performance is terrible (really scratchy sound). Anyone else have sound issues and if not, will you share the drivers you're using?

Can I upgrade to a 2 Tb hard drive at time of purchase? I see no customizing options.

I did not see any customization options for my order. So I would say no.

Does this system have the ability to be upgraded in the Power supply, RAM and Graphics card later on down the road?

Yes.  I upgraded the PSU and put in a 970GTX
