do this pc works good?

As an android based system I am very happy. We use this as a countertop lifestyle system with google calendars, weather, shopping lists, cookbooks, news feed, and some home automation applications. I have not yet tried it as a smart monitor for a windows system but the android side of this unit is very nice. Screen is very sensitive, and the only downside is that is is only two point touch and not ten point. the price point however can not be beat, I have seen similar item go for hundreds more.

Can you run Microsoft Windows programs like Word, Excel etc. on it?

Nope, this hardware only runs Android, or can be used as a monitor for a windows PC.  I bought 4 of these and 3 of them broke within the fist month (touchscreen dead zones).  Personally, I would not recommend this product as they are kind of under-powered garbage...

Is this capable of future Android updates?

That would depend on Acer supporting this product AND the ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Since it is only 1.0Ghz (even though Dual Core), it may not be upgradeable. Acer might have more information on their website, but I haven't read anything about any future Android updates. Having used both ICS and Jelly Bean I know the differences are subtle. I notice the Acer specific software differences more than the OS ones.

My Name is Jack Wheeler I bought one acer d110hql . when we receved it yesterday it would not come on. we pug it in over night it did not come on this morning what shall I do. jack ???

Hello Jack, I have one unit it works ok, a second unit the touch screen was not working got rma sent it back, if you plug unit in you need to puch the front botton, it should have a blue light ?? if so push, the screen should come up, if not you need to request a RMA, its a good unit and just little slow, works like a tablet, the picture quality is great, played some movies on the unit Via USB... I like the unit, and hope this was a help..if not let me know

We have DSL. Is this computer compatible?

This does have an ethernet connector, so wi-fi is not a must. But you will need a router unless your DSL router has an ethernet jack.

Is this operating system compatible with programs like Quickbooks?

it runs on Android Google software like a Tablet, if the App store has app for Quickbooks, then it should work

What's the battery life like on this?

There is no battery. It is just like having a desktop computer that runs an Android operating system. It must be plugged in all the time you are using it, something I wasn't aware of when I bought it, but it makes sense. A monitor this large would just eat up a battery anyway.

how do you switch from monitor mode to tablet mode? Do you have to unplug the tower?

I don't have a tower and it works like a tablet the whole time, so my guess is that you are right and you just need to unhook it.
