I read a review that the video card was slow.  is that common for a dedicated 2g card?   The other model I am looking is only a 1 g card.  I would think the 2 g would be really fast

I don't know if it is typical or not. I haven't noticed any lag in any video and response seems quick and smooth. I would clarify though that I am not a gamer so if you are asking from that standpoint then better getting some feedback specifically on that.

Can you please tell me the total height of the monitor top to bottom?  Thank you.

The height of the monitor top to bottom is approx. 14".  The height of the entire unit including base is approx. 17.5".  I Hope this helps you.

What USB ports are provided.  Does the screen tilt? What angle?

There are 4 USB ports (v3.0) with 1 "Firewire" (e-SATA) port. The screen tilts 90 degrees from vertical to completely flat, and anywhere in between....but it does not swivel.
