Does it come with Windows 8 ?

No but I think windows 7 is better and this is one of the reasons I bought this computer. The computer is fantastic and mine was refurbished so it was a great price.  It is fast, Hugh hard drive, great video card, and lots of ram! I would buy this computer again tomorrow! I use it everyday and really love it!

What power supply comes with this particular computer?

I think it is really about a 300 watt PS
It's on the Asus web site. It said it would put out 350 watts for 1 second.

Why was refurbising required?
Is it wireless?

Id guess they are reburbished because they failed or where returned for some reason.  As an electronics tech (I do not work for asus or newegg) Ill say many returns are "NPF" no problem found meaning the product functions as intended.  Also if there really was a problem they generally fix it right so it won't come back again (come backs cost the manufacurer big).  Mine is wireless and did have its antenna.  The return policy should be listed on the item page.  If I recall correctly no returns on refurbs but the policy should be on the items page.  There is some risk in buying refurbs but I personally think its worth the savings in most cases.  That and modular products like pcs are so cheap to fix anyway.  But what do I know?

I see RAM is configured at 4x4 GB, but please could someone verify if it's expandable to 32 GB of RAM, or maxed out at 16 GB? Thanks!

Max is 16 GB. System was bought for use as a Solidworks workstation. The machine has been decent but bottle necks at the HDD. Replaced with SSD and solved problem.

I got this as a gift for someone else so I didn't open the box, but the images show 4 sticks, so I would guess it's 4x4.

This is the best computer I have ever owned. Extremely fast and so far very dependable. Yes it will support IDE DVD.

Out of the box, can I run two HDMI monitors?

There is a single HDMI port on the graphics card and a single HDMI port on the motherboard.  The yes part is that you could probably hook one into each OR you may be able to find a DVI-to-HDMI converter cable.

I got my order but it came with windows 8. I fired a RMA for replacement.  I am wondering how could this happen?

Lucky for you! Why do you complain about it? I got Win 7 and replaced it with Win 8.
