why the type of battery using is not showing in the description?

When battery types are not 'clearly' visible it irritates me as well, however when zooming in on the packaging it does display that 'C' batteries are required.

I highly recommend rechargeable NiMh C batteries for these type of items.  I have used Tenergy over the years and have no complaints, in fact I will continue using my rechargeable batteries for years to come.  Also the Tenergy C batteries hold 5000 mAh, slightly more than some of the competitors.

Also, this Feit LED 500 Lumens flashlight is getting 4.5 stars at two other well known retailers.  I just ordered my 2nd Feit flashlight here at Newegg due to the coupon pricing at the time.

how do you change the batteries? My flashlight is dead.

Unscrew the rear cap off of the back of the flashlight. It may or may be on tight? Put the three "C" size batteries in with the + side (the pointed part) in first towards the front of the flashlight. Then re-screw the back cap back on. Just until it is snug and not too tight. That's all there is too it! It should work fine.

Question 3

My flashlight does not turn completely off.  It toggles between fully on and nearly off, but in the dark you can see that it is still slightly powered.  Can you explain this?

Are you sure it stays this way even an hour or more after being shut off?  Remember a white LED is actually an Ultraviolet LED with a phosphor crystal in front of it that absorbs UV and re-radiates visible light.  These type of phosphors sometimes exhibit some persistence or afterglow from the light energy that is stored up in them. This is very dim though. If the glow is bright enough to see other than outside at night then I suspect a faulty switching circuit. That would be the circuit that enables the LED to flash or burn dim. If it is faulty, a small amount of current can leak from the battery across the faulty transistor and light the LED dimly.  You can test this by taking out the battery. If the problem is a faulty switch circuit the light will go out when the battery is removed.

It'd be nice if you included specs about number and type of batteries required as well as hours at full power on a set of batteries...?

Agreed, it is pathetic that online vendors fail to provide product specs-- zooming in on the product blister pack photo, packaging text CLAIMS battery life on Hi (claimed 500 lumens) of 5 hours, claimed battery life on low (claimed 160 lumens) is 44 hrs.  It is also stated that three (3) alkaline batteries are use (but, pathetically, battery size isn't specified, nor are the physical dimensions of the flashlight given.)  If the claimed 500/160 lumen figures are honest (though that seems dubious, even with fresh batteries) the batteries "must" be AA or larger, unless the manufacturer is using a new LED with record-setting luminous efficiency, unavailable to others.

I dropped my flashlight from the dinning room table, and now it will not work does anyone know what to do to fix it?
