The StarTech.com RH2A-7M-HDMI-CABLE is a 23 ft (7 m) active HDMI 2.0 cable for connecting HDMI devices over longer runs, making it suitable for 4K 60Hz displays in homes, offices, and conference rooms.
Recommended For
- Conference-room, classroom, and office installers routing a 4K60 signal from a presentation PC or media player to a distant display or projector, where a 7 m active cable helps bridge the fixed run.
- Home-theater users with a fixed source-to-TV or projector run of up to 7 m who need HDMI 2.0 video up to 4K60, HDR10, and multichannel audio.
- PC-to-TV users who want to keep a computer in one part of a room and connect it to a 4K60 display elsewhere, and can install the cable with its Source and Display ends oriented correctly.
- Fixed AV installations that need a long copper HDMI connection for 4K60 playback and do not need HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a home theater, connect an AV receiver or media player to a projector across the room; the 7 m active cable is designed to carry compatible video and audio signals, including 4K at 60 Hz, over the longer run.
- In a conference room, run a laptop or room computer to a distant display or projector so presenters can show slides and video without placing the source beside the screen; connect the cable’s Source end to the output device and Display end to the screen.
- In a classroom, connect the instructor’s computer to a projector at the front or ceiling of the room; the longer active run is intended to support presentations and video while keeping the computer at the teaching station.
- For a wall-mounted TV positioned away from a media console, route the cable from a set-top box, player, or receiver to the TV; its active circuitry is intended to help maintain the HDMI connection over this room-length distance.
- In a small office or huddle space, connect a meeting-room computer to a shared display across the room; the cable can keep the screen in a convenient viewing position while the source stays at the desk or equipment area.
