If the power goes off will this heater come back on by itself when power restores?

I own two of these. The switches are mechanical and not momentary. So they stay on once you turn it on. So if you loose power, it will come back on when power is restored.

how large of an area will it heat?

We have two of them. One in our furthest bedroom from furnace and anther in an apartment. The bedroom is 12 x 13 and it heats that room on lowest setting. There is a hi and low (1500/750). Then there is a thermostat that adjusts the wattage in each either hi or low. In that bedroom where the furnace only gets it to about 64 degrees. Turn this heater on low and have thermostat set on 1 or 2 ( low settings) and that bedroom will be about 78 degrees over night. When temps get to zero we leave it on around clock and it keeps that roon most comfortable in house. We have had that one for 7 years and love it.

The apartment is a one room with a bath and its 20 x 30. This heater on low and thermastat on medium (5) will keep constant temperature in apartment except in the bathroom where its a few degrees cooler when outside temp goes down to about 45 degrees. Once it goes lower than that you have to turn on high. However we have never turned thermastat past half even in 0 degree temps outside. Bathroom needs a small space heater when it gets that cold

Recommend it to a friend  and he heats his workshop in basement. Its probably about same as apartment in size and says he loves it. That's is straight block foundation and not insulated walls like we have.

Is there a fan?

No fan, but this heater pumps out heat that effectivlely warms my master bedroom, on high heat. I only use this to take the chill out of the bedroom in the morning and evening, using a timer rated for 2k watts, I don't use low setting.

Question 4

How wide is the wheel base from front to back?  I have a 7inch ledge off a stone wall I was hoping to rest this puppy on....will it fit?  Do the wheels lock?

If you face the wheels outward, the measurements are 1 foot wide. If you face the wheels inward, they measure 10 inch wide so if you only have 7 inches the wheels on one side of the will hang over the ledge. The wheels do not lock.

can i use it in the bathroom?

Probably, as long as it doesn't get wet and you don't put it under a towel bar. I'd keep it at least 3 feet away from anything with water, and have it plugged into a GFCI outlet to be safe. If there are kids around I wouldn't use it there either.

How long is the power cord?

Without measuring I would say about 4 feet. Being a heater you shouldn't have a very long cord as far as safety is concerned.

Is it cool to the touch or hot?

back is cool/warm
top is hot
 sides and side panels are plastic/cool-warm as you move upward
metal greate would be hot to touch (babies and animals would burn themselves - although m,y pup respects ait and LOVES the radiant heat

We have 4 of these  and love them - no toddlers around though

Also they don't give off any stink like those infra-reds in a wood box-type heaters - after you burn this one off it is good!!
