How do I correct the stitches when the top and bottom are both to loose?..

You can look on you tube for videos on tension. Also, if the bobbin is not threaded correctly, that can cause tension problems as well. I know the manual covers it breifly. But it sounds as if both the upper and lower tension knob were chaneed from the factory settings. The manual will tell you where the default settings will be.
